How can I quickly silence proximity sensors?

I live in the USA and recently traded my 2017 E300 for a 2025 GLE450e. I'm really loving it, and there have been tons of great improvements over the past 7-8 years. One thing that I miss, however, is the button that my E300 had to toggle the proximity sensors on and off at the touch of a button. Is there such a button in the 2025 GLE? So far, I've only been able to silence the proximity sensors by going into the MBUX settings. That works, but it takes a few clicks to make it happen. When I go through a fast food drive-thru lane or try to use a drive-thru lane at the bank, the proximity sensor often goes off, and it takes quite a few steps to silence it. I'd love to learn a quicker way to toggle it off without "permanently" deactivating this safety feature. Even a voice command would be better than drilling down through the MBUX settings, but so far, I haven't found a way to control it with a voice command either. On the E300, the toggle button was located near the COMAND Control wheel. I don't miss the control wheel or the inferior COMAND system, but I really do miss that one-touch toggle button to temporarily override the proximity sensor. Has anyone found a shortcut for this? Or better yet, is there a button for it that I just haven't found yet? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Unfortunately, all this stuff is now buried in the MBUX. The step back in ergonomics of all these recent interiors is a real shame. The tactile feel of operating a car is all gone. Having said that, they have tried to centralize these things a bit. If you press the button with the car icon below the display it brings up a screen with shortcuts to all the driver assistance settings, so you can at least turn them all off from a single screen behind one physical button. Although not sure if the GLE has this yet as it has MBUX 1. I'm referencing MBUX 2 in the W223, W206 and all the other new models with the big center screens.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, my GLE does have the consolidated options screen that you referenced, and yes, I can access it from the button with the car icon on it. That is better than going through a bunch of menus.

Also, when the proximity sensor is triggered, the camera view opens. When that happens, I can see there's an on-screen proximity sensor icon button to the left of the "aerial" camera image. That is useful, but as you suggested, I'm missing the tactile control and efficiency of a dedicated button.

That said, it's just one minor annoyance compared to many, many upgrades over my E300 with COMAND. I'll get over it and take solace in the fact that the new system is so much better than what I had in my 2017 Benz. I got my E300 before they even had touch screens, so I'm grateful for the many overall improvements.

The quickest way is holding down the button with the car icon and when your 360 cams pop up, just tap the P soft button. The sensors are re-enabled after each restart. I often tap it each time I go in and out of my garage. You just have to remember to tap it again if you're backing out of the garage but want it enabled again for the duration of your drive.

Thank you for the tutorial and the photos. While I wish they would have kept the actual button for this feature, at least there's still a way to deactivate the sensor temporarily.

I don't know if this still applies to a 25, but this works on my 21. It might help a bit.

In the menu setting, I can change the volume and pitch of the warning sounds.

More importantly, you can also reduce the sensitivity by disabling the setting "warn early all around," and they will be less intrusive.

Good suggestion.

Yes adjusting these certainly makes them less annoying when I'm going in and out of my tight garage.

Yes, those options are still supported. Thanks for offering some possible workaround solutions.
