AMG GLE 53 Center Caps

The other day I was stopped at the store and noticed that my center cap on my front wheel was missing. Upon closer inspection I figured out that someone had used something to pry against the wheel to pop/break the cap off.

Fast forward I've been trying to find a replacement and it's not as easy as it sounds. My 1st call was to Mercedes and was told I needed to buy a set of 4 so I turned to Ebay to buy one. I ordered the one that was said to fit which was part #00040042009283 and when it arrived the center was different. Keep in mind you supposedly buy the centercap separately, then I ordered the set from MB and when they arrived it didn't have the correct cap. Went to the MB dealership and they checked and confirmed it was the right number(via VIN), I had my original with me minus the cap that has a part # was different but they couldn't find anything in the system to match it. After 30 minutes they said mine must have been from another car, I bought the car new so I doubted that. Then we went onto the lot and they had a 53 & 63 that had caps that matched mine, so back inside to search the part number via those VIN numbers and still not the correct center.

I've ordered 2 others from the internet and none have matching caps, any idea how I can find the correct cap?

I'm not sure what I'm looking at here.
Do you have center locks?

The center "cap" threads in to hold the "saucer" in place to hide the lugnuts.

Are you sure that "this" piece doesn't have to be removed first?

I'm not trying to remove it, I'm trying to find the part number to the one that matches my original, the one the arrow points to. The one in my hand isn't the same and I've bought 7 so far trying to get the correct one.

Here is the full wheel, I need the center cap. The dealership searched it by VIN and it came back with the one in my hand which isn’t an exact match, the flutes are smaller than mine. They also searched the VINS of the 2 they had on the lot that matched and came back to the same part #

It's possible MB changed the design, but that wouldn't explain why they're using the old design in new vehicle manufacturing. It's also possible that the one you purchased online isn't authentic. I have some non-OE aftermarket center caps msyelf that are stamped with the OE part number even though they're cheap knockoffs.

To be clear, you're just looking for the center cap itself, correct? You don't need the entire hub cap assembly?

If the dimensions are correct this looks like a match ...

Is the part number stamped on one of your existing ones?

It's possible the ones that I bought other than directly from MB could've been fakes but they all match the ones I got at the dealership.

I do only need the center cap but I can't read the part # on it because it was broken they they stole it, I'll pull one of my other ones off to look. The dealership said they go by the number on the "saucer part" but that doesn't mean he was correct as I've bought sets that matched that part #.
