Sudden brake jerk

Good morning. I been noticing that about third of times when I do a gentle continuous push on brake pedal to slowly slow down the brake at times get engaged with a sudden jerk like I’m going to hit something. Just for a second. Any ideas what’s going on? 2025 GLE 450 thank you

Sounds like the hard downshift issue. Watch to see if the issue happens as the transmission downshifts. Have you had the standstill transmission adaptation done? Or a transmission software update? I think there is a new software release out that fixes the issue. Your dealer should be familiar with the issue.

Yep. It's the 5-4 downshift issue. Known problem, dealer has a software update that fixes it. I just had mine done last week, made the drivability much better.

Do you get a warning display when that happens? You might have activated your collision warning system. Either you or another car/object with high closing speed.

no warning display. So it’s not the collision system. But I don’t recall any transmission update done or mentioned in last service! Only 11 k on car. So that could be it!!!!!

just tried it multiple times. There is a “hesitation” every time I go from 5-4 and one time it did the good old jerk as it switched! Will see dealer Monday. Thank you all for your help.
