Hello all,

I recently got a 2024 GLE 450, iridium silver. I'm looking to get a separate set of wheels with winter tires as I'm driving in snow regularly.

Mercedes has not been able to tell me anything about recommended wheel sizes for winter tires.
My current summer wheels are the staggered 21" with 275/315.

I found on the internet that there are 19" options that fit, and 20" with 275/50 seems common at tire stores.

Any of you have recommendations for wheels that fit and work well?

PS: I have a set of AMG wheels that fit an ML63 available to sell - dont fit the GLE. M15 bolts instead of M14.

I opted for an OEM set of 20's, then put on 275/50 hakkas. A euro shop had a set of takeoffs w/ tpms on ebay, I was able to find them easily online and connected directly to save on fees and split shipping.

20x9 275/50 is perfect. Note that the offsets are different front to rear, so unless you get OEM wheels, whey may not be factory without spacers. I have had Michelin Pilot Alpin V SUV tires which are on their 6th Winter and I like a lot.
Regarding the wheels, I drilled out a set of W166 wheels (https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...ml#post7784909) which work fine, but I added 12mm spacers in the rear with extended lugs.

I did the same. Bought OEM brand new takeoffs mounted with Alpin 5s. Also, I think @Ron.s might have some lightly used winter tires for sale.

And there's this site.

I purchased some Mercedes Benz factory wheels from Alloy Wheels Direct and use them each winter on my 2021 GLE 450. I looked on their website and there are lots of different aftermarket brands available, but if you click on the header "wheel brands" right under the "Alloy Wheels Direct" logo
Logo - Alloy Wheels Direct

and then click on Mercedes and then click on 21" wheels, you can see exact factory Mercedes wheels that are available.
Here's the ones that I got with the 275 in the front and the 315 in the rear (the same size they came with from the factory):

https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/me...ith+High+Sheen
In the list that comes up to the right, click on the bottom of it, "SHOW MORE" and then click on [167-21] Himalaya Grey With High Sheen
I've been very happy with them and have used them in the snow for 4 winters.
here's the exact wheels specs 21x10ET54 (front wheels)
21x11ET49 (rear wheels)

What tires are you running? Those would certainly look good but far from ideal for snow/ice conditions in those widths, but I see you're from Santa Barbara, so unless you go to the mountains....

I've got Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 tires on those wheels. I spend most of the winter skiing in Oregon, Washington and British Colombia and haven't had any problems with traction on both ice and snow.
