What kind of seats to order on GLE?

I'm thinking of getting a new GLE 350d. The problem is standart seats seem to be with insufficient lateral support compared to the sport seats of my current BMW X3. I go for leather definitely.
What seats to choose- the sport seats that come with the AMG interior package in my country, or the multi contour seats, that are a standalone option, with the massage function. Are the sport seats too hard to sit on, it looks like this on pics. The problem is I cannot find the multi contour seats even on photo, and as far as the catalogue claims, with these seats as an option the interior is always bi color, is that true?

The sport seats are firm and the outer edges of the seat portion "cup" up which could be a wear spot on the leather. The multi contour seats are very dynamic for adjustment and support but comfortable...we went to dealer to actually explore and compare. IMO the multi contour seats are worth the cost if you spend any long periods in the vehicle.

Do you think the multicontour seats offer better lateral support on the sitting part of the seat or they are as flat as the regular seats?

Soon: 2020 G63 Currently: 2016 GLE63 SUV + 97 F250HD, Before: 2013 G550, Range Rover Sport, 1984 CJ7
Go with the maxed out multi-contour seats. They have endless adjustability. The massage feature is useful on long drives to keep back moving gently (mobilizing massage setting).

I am 205lbs 5'11" and find the seats to be 10 out of 10. Keep in mind I am coming out of a 2013 G wagon and before that an 08 Rover... :-)

Anybody happy with the AMG sport seats, are they too narrow? Also the sport seats look kind of hard on the pictures, unfortunately no dealer has a test car with these sport seats on it.

I find the standard leather seats fine. I've tried "sport" seats in other vehicles and unless you're the perfect size, they can feel narrow and firm making it uncomfortable for daily commutes.

Would you mind if you take a photo of your seats and post it here. In the internet it is hard to find multicontour seats, because most of them are in AMG 63 vehicles, which have their own AMG-type seats. Thank you for comment.

Well - compared to your seat choice - I would recommend if you want a new GLE this year - that you might consider gasser...

Personally - I "seriously doubt" there will be 2017 GLd's delivered this year - the Fed's can't come to agreement on their side on setting testing procedure's..

I'm just saying - I would not get your hopes up !

I live in Europe and diesels are not a problem.Prefer 350d's torque and MPG than gas engines. For me diesel engines are the better choice for vehicles over 2000 kg.

+1 on what do people think about the sport seats.

You cant get that fancy 2 tone white black seat on anything but the sport seats.

To be honest, they dont look like typical super tight sport seats. They still look quite comfy... and the reviews people have made with these cars when they have the sport seats never complained about them being uncomfortable.

Today I tried the sport seats. Although I'm more skinny than heavy, they feel really tight and narrow, the lateral support on the seat is high and vertical, squeezing you to the middle of the seat. For me definitely that's going to be tiring on long, and not so long, trips. I'll go for the multi contour seats.

I had sport seats in my Porsche Macan. The side bolster would try to pull off of a certain part of my anatomy every time I exited the car! Mind you I am 5'7".

My GLE leader is STIFF!

My wife and I test drove a GLE 400 with sport seats ( black and porcelain). We felt they are very comfortable and thought they are made very well to fit us. We are about 5ft 6 inches each, average build and really liked sport seats in the GLE. Didn't see multi contour massage seats and so don't know how they are ....but they must be good with so many adjustments that are available. On sport seats, side bolsters support is extremely comfortable. Downside of having them is only two choice of colors - black or black & porcelain and we can't get perforated seats. She wanted sport seats only in our order for 2017 GLE 400 and so we included them.

I have sport seats in my BMW now, but the sides are not so high and kind of soft, when you sit in it, your leg can overlap the side bolster a bit. In the GLE my impression was I have no choice to use any space over the side support of the seat, and this felt for me somehow tight, even for 5 minutes sitting. Hope I'm not wrong because they look awesome. And still I'm not sure if the Multi contour seats have better support than the standart ones, in the internet they show all kind of pics possible for these kind of seats, unfortunately no dealer here has a GLE with these seats.

For the $1100 - get the multicontour seats - way worth it. I don't have them on my 2016 GLE550e, but wish I did...
