GLE Issue Problem Malfunction - Another one

Well gents, I am up in Vermont, 3 hours from a dealer and I get a Malfunction error with a car icon with an arrow pointing up. It is a suspension issue, airmatic failure, or something else.

The car began to take bumps and road uneveness very hard. Bumpy as hell.

This is one of many issues I have had with the Mercedes GLE (AMG 63). I would not recommend purchasing this vehicle.

- Day of purchase, errors popped up when driving off lot (0 Miles)
- The lights stopped working (under 1k miles) (at night!)
- The gas fill sensor had a fault saying I had a half tank but ran empty while at highway speeds (full stall) (6500 miles)
- Faulty coolant sensor (7900 miles)
- Malfuction of air suspension

I spoke to a service associate at the Paramus Prestige Mercedes dealer. What a waste of time. The guy laughed at me and said his "wife had the same issue - it takes two weeks to resolve".

Benz is putting alot of muscle in their vehicles which I love, but they have no clue what they are doing with their electric technology. It's garbage sticthed together

If you live and work close to home, I could live with Benz. But since I drive more than 25 miles from a dealer, all the electrical issues have put me over the edge.

In any case, i'd avoid benz and spend your $ with a dealer who values your repeat business.

My last benz and POS GLE63.

Other than the Airmatic problem, have all of the other issues been repaired? What's your build date?

I picked up vehicle in April 16 so it was between Jan and March 2016.
They fixed each of the problems, but each one kept the car sitting a week before they could start because of "parts".

I drive twice a month. From NYC to VT. Each time it is about 500 miles. All highway and then a dirt road to the house. The car has it easy. Since April it's been in a shop 7 times. For new problems or reoccurring gremlins.
The car looks cool tho haha.

Yeah, I feel for you. Went through something similar with my present vehicle. I've always loved having a first generation model. I just like the fact that the look "stays" current longer. Sadly, that's a mistake I've paid for in the form of frequent trips to the service dept. It's for this reason I waited a year. Actually, they say it takes 2-3 years to get all of the bugs out, so I probably didn't wait long enough. Oh well, we'll see how this goes. Keeping my fingers crossed. Wishing you better luck in the future.

I'm having my first electrical gremlin right now- right tail light goes out intermittently and error pops up. My preferred dealer is 50 miles away, so it's not the easiest to get to.

For those keeping score at home, an update for you.

The malfunction was the result of a "broken and faulty front right strut".

The service guy at MB Manhattan said it was leaking fluid / generally broken, but didn't have any more info (is this unusual or common, etc, no color).

I am clueless how the combo of airmatic works in conjunction with the strut, but the whole car froze up in terms of the ride/suspension - not just the front right. It seemed that the system recognized that fault and essentially locked up the whole suspension.

My GLE had 8500 miles on it at time of malfunction. I recommend that you take an occasional look for any leaks or other suspicious sounds etc from your suspension around that milage marker.

GLE is back in my garage. It took a while for them to fix it (9 business days).

Here is the paperwork on what they did to "fix" it if anyone wants to nerd out a bit today.

OMG! I'd hate to think what this would have cost had it been out of warranty.

wow, hope that completely fixes your issue.
on first look, i will say that the service department should employ the assistance of a spell check program. would make it easier to figure out what they did

Now, now. Let's not make fun. They obviously brought in a crew of "German" mechanics to fix the problem correctly. English is a second language for them.

GLE43 Suspension Issue

My Jan 2016 brand new when purchased GLE43 had a complete suspension fail last night on the way home from work.

The car has 65,000KM on the clock and at 20,000KM received a new gearbox because the original stopped working (under warranty) but lost the car for nearly 3 weeks.

To fix the suspension problem, I pulled over, turned the car off and waited 5 minutes. Turned the car back on and now seems fixed? Well done Mercedes Benz.
