Illuminated star for W166 GLE350

Can someone provide specific instructions for installing the illuminated star in a 2017 GLE350. Have aftermarket star ordered on Ebay specifically to fit this model. It came and fits perfectly
with two wires--a hot and a ground. Have followed threads in other models wherein they are hooked to the parking light. Others use fuse #23. Some use a remote dimmer or have a cutoff
switch under the dash but not for the GLE. Specific instructions, please. Thanks very much.

Illuminated star GLE350

Thanks for the info. My fuse box is the same, but my star does not have an in line fuse. There is an in line connector only. Where did the ground wire get connected? Any suggestions about how I could add an in line fuse to complete the installation? Also what amp?? Thanks.

I am thinking of the same with my 2017 GLE 350. Can you share what you ended up doing?

Illuminated Star on GLE350 W166

A few of us are still awaiting posts on how to install the aftermarket illuminated star on a W166 or GLE350. We have a positive and negative wires with no fuse protection. We know the negative goes to ground. Some say the positive plugs into the fuse box. Others say it splices into a parking light. Is there any specific information out there? A narrative response would probably be sufficient. Thanks very much.

Installation of illuminated star

After awaiting over a year to receive instructions for installing the illuminated star from China, I finally went to a non dealer Mercedes specialty garage.

the took 2 hours to install it and used an in line fuse that had to be added and wired it into the fuse box under the hood and opened up the fuse panel behind the back seat. The technician said one bad connection can cause a lot of damage. I paid $196 to get it installed and am glad I got someone who knew what they were doing and didn't suffer any setbacks. My advice is to get it installed by a shop that know what the are doing. Thus is for a 2017 GLE350.

I bought this star led from eBay. I am working on compiling the video which I made during the installation. I give this 5 stars. Here are few snapshots. In the snapshot, the led looks purple but actually, I took a snapshot when I changed the color through app blue. It is a very cool app I can change to any color based on MB mood . LED turns on when door is opened or low beam is ON. Note the custom connector with 5 amp fuse. Note the location
