Pics of 275/45/20 tyre set on GLE

I'm thinking of replacing my summer tyres for next season with 275/45/20 instead of the OEM 265/45/20 Pirellis that the car came with which are almost impossible to be balanced and together with this look a bit skiny on the vehicle in my opinion. What I'm bothered is if the 275 tyres look very fat being watched from the side because of the slightly higher profile. The other option could be 285/40/20 but the 9 J rim will be too narrow for a 285 tyre. If anybody has this tyre set on his vehicle, please post a pic to have an idea how it looks. Thanks in advance!

When you increase the tire width you decrease the sidewall (aspect ratio) also. I would go with a 275/40/20 size instead.

You mean "increase" the sidewall I guess?
The sidewall of 275/40 is 40% of 275
The sidewall of 265/45 is 45% of 265

275/40/20 will have too thin sidewall compared to 265/45 and the wheel will not fill the wheel well good.

No I mean decrease. 45 down to 40 is a decrease.

Sorry I didn't get correctly what you mean I guess, anyway we are both talking the same. Do you think there is any chance to go for 285/40 with these 9J rims or they will protrude out of the rim lip too much?

285/40/20 is a good size choice but is recommended for 9.5" minimum rim width according to http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Tire-Size-Calculator

Do you think these tires would look ok on a car, I have low profile and looking for a slight taller tire and a set of these are available close by for a good price . 09 Ford Fusion

@yavor If you go with larger tires, the diameter increases, correct? What would you do with the odometer/spedometer?

You do nothing. According to the calculator the Speedometer change is 1.21%. That's too small to be of concern IMO. A speed of 60 would be 60.7 mph.
