New Wheel Hub Price Ouch!
The wheel hub on my 2017 GLE 350 was damaged and needs to be replaced. A couple wheel stud bolt holes are stripped. The dealer wants $1,300 to replace the wheel hub, it's that a fair price?
Thank you!
Thank you!

2017 GLE350 4MATIC
Roughly 2 hours of labor, plus parts. mercedesbenzstarparts lists the hub at almost $400. $125/hr for labor x 2 = $250 for a total of $650 parts and labor. $1300 seems high. What is included in the estimate? Are more parts needed than just the hub and bearing? Wheel bolts are not expensive.

The damage is my fault. I had a flat tire and was not familiar with changing the spare using the short stud bolts. I put the long bolts in and cranked down on then trying to get them tight enough which of course I couldn't. I couldn't get the long stud bolts out because I cranked down on them so hard i mushroomed the end of the bolts. I ended up calling AAA and he used a impact wrench to get the stud bolts out. The mushroomed stud ends stripped a couple of the stud holes. I thought maybe they could tap out the holes or put a helicoil in.
I'm not sure what parts are included in the repair I'll find out first thing in the morning. I assume it would be just a rotor? Idk? Maybe if they change the rotor they have to change the pads too, again idk. Still seems a bit high too me. I'll find out more in the morning. They had to order the part and were going to install in the morning.
My GLE has 35k miles on it and the tires were about due to be replaced. The tire blew out after I ran up a sharp curb, ripped the sidewall open. Tires are original Continental Crosscontact and I am having then replaced with the repair for a total hit of $2,500...ouch!
Oh one other thing, the dealer said I should get an alignment with the new tires for $169. I agreed but was sceptical. I'm 60yo and have replaced a lot of tires over the years and that's the first time it was ever recomended that an alignment was needed when i change tires.
This is my first Mercedes and I knew repairs would be expensive and was prepared for that, but I feel I might be getting raked, that's why I am asking you all.
Thank All!

If you want I can try digging up my receipt so you can compare.

My repair estimate is $500 in parts and $800 in labor. That's 6.5 hours of labor. I doubt it takes more than a couple hours to repair and that includes an hour break lol. In honor of the late Dorris Day. "Que Sera Sera".

Mine says 4.5 hours.
With your labor quote and current mb labor rates of 175$ it comes to 4.5 hours too.
Your parts and labor quote is very similar to what I paid.
