Best Brake pads/rotors for GLE?
Hi all,
I've had my used 2017 GLE for a few months now and when I had my last maintenance they said I had enough left on my brake pads to last a while but I figured I'd start researching them now. What are the best(highest performance) pads I can get for my GLE? Also for rotors, are there "better" ones than the original ones? Or is it better to just get original rotors from MB?
Thanks in advance!

I also have been researching maintenance parts (brakes, wipers, battery, tires etc)
Funny that I've seen rotors for my car range from as low as $40 to $120 per rotor (Fleabay).
I believe your job is to find out where they are made and stay away from the Chinese brands (poor quality).
Stick with German (Brembo) or good old USA (Duralast, EBC or Power Stop etc...).
Best pads are probably ceramics
Check with Rock Auto, AutoZone, Pepboys etc (No affiliation).
Good luck

I stayed away from ceramics becuase I noticed a big difference on both my e and ml class.
there are articles on ceramic vs semi metal that you should read. Ceramics for me took long to stop and the bite was too hard when I slammed the brakes.
try FCP EURO they have a buy once guarantee so if the pads or rotor go to **** in a couple of months you can replace and try again for free.

I will throw in my two cents...
i have had many cars and tried many aftermarket brands of pads and rotors as well as OEM products. Since I do not drive on a racetrack, I have never seen a large enough difference to justify going with aftermarket. Especially with the Mercedes pads and rotors. They shed a little dust but not too bad compared to many I’ve owned.
My rear rotors got to 60,000 miles. My front rotors at 70,000 are still the originals, and still going.
So, the car stops great and is very controllable with the OEM pads and rotors...and I am getting a lot of mileage out of them compared to many I have owned in the past. I see no reason to change from OEM. Voila, my two cents for what it’s worth...

+1 for Original Equipment (OE) brake components. Have tried non-OE brake parts over the years and was always disappointed. Mushy pedal feel, uneven wear, poor fit and finish, too much dust, squeaks and so on.
Figured the Mercedes engineers spent a fair amount of time and money developing the brake system and its components. Feel less confident the aftermarket stuff went through the same scrutiny.
