Which kind of gas do you use
Hey! I recently bought a CPO 18 GLE350W4. I was encouraged by quote "2018 and 19 GLEs are one of the most reliable MBs" by Chassis the great. Thank you Chassis!
I am excited to join the W166 GLE family. We all know W166 is reliable, but it is heavy as well. I was wondering what kind of gas do you use for it?
Previously I only use Chevron Premium 91 gas for my old BMW 328, but now I was wondering whether I can use other gas brands.
For example, Costco gas is known to be economic, but would that harm the engine? Can anyone there who has been using say Costco gas for a long period of time share some experiences?

I use Sunoco Ultra 93 grade most of the time. Sometime I use Exxon/Mobil Synergy Supreme+.
I hate Shell with a passion. I had 2 different vehicles where they found water in the gas tank.

We have a '14 ML350 and a '14 GL450. Both CPO's. 67k combined miles on mostly Costco 93 gas. No issues. Of course the only way to truly know is to pull the heads........

Anything below 91 if you run it hard it will start pinging. If you drive it easy and normal. You be fine. I thought all GLE are 91 fuel grade other then the Diesel. Not sure on the Hybrids on what they uses.

you can use any "top tier" gas...
https://www.consumerreports.org/car-...h-extra-price/
recommended by many major car manufacturers... including Mercedes. I use Costco. $3.07 this past weekend when I filled up one of my cars

I am shamelessly copy-pasting the "top tier" brands in the article here:76, Aloha Petroleum, Amoco, ARCO, Beacon, BP, Breakaway, Break Time, Cenex, Chevron, CITGO, Conoco, Costco, CountryMark, Diamond Shamrock, Entec, Esso, Express Mart, Exxon, Fast Fuel, HFN, Hele, Holiday, Kwik Star, Irving, Kirkland Signature, Kwik Star, Kwik Trip, Marathon, Metro Petro, MFA, Mobil, Ohana Fuels, Phillips 66, PUMA, QT, Quik Trip, Road Ranger, Shamrock, Shell, Sinclair, Sunoco, SuperAmerica, SuperFuels, Texaco, Valero, Value America, Wow, and Win Win.

To answer the initial question; have used Costco Premium fuel since they became a "Top Tier" supplier....several years at least. (note that "Premium" is 92 octane here in the Pacific Northwest). Never had any issues with Costco fuel. Occasionally will put in Chevron, but cannot tell a difference in MPG or performance.
