It will cool, but with compressor only on partial duty, it will not be efficient.
Than with system flexibility it takes a lot to overcharge it to the level of high limit clicking.
Even full can of refrigerant is not going to do it.
But the OP had no gauges, so how would he/she know all this?
I suggested not to do anything, especially with leaks showing, to avoid the things you are talking about.
The constant cycling of the system stresses it, which ought to be avoided, even if the system is fine, which it appears not to be.

I think "trial" charging of AC without guages or knowledge is Ill advised.

This is 21 Century, you can read AC pressure on the scanner.
Than work on your reading comprehension.
We are not talking about trial charging here.

Unless you have a scanner, gauges or other equipment, it's a trial. The OP had neither.

You are class act.
You can't understand the question and you make multi-reply from your problem.

Thanks for the compliment, after your snide comments about my reading comprehension.

Your "advice" doesn't apply here, since you keep referring to instrumented testing.
It sounds like you have some experience that could be helpful. How would you approach the original question without equipment?

Why would I do that?
Do you spend time operating your android without the battery?
With MB oriented scanners selling for $50, there is no excuse to not own 1.

Nope, repairing the cars, especially Mercedes is not for people who can't understand basic tools and basic mechanics.

So, I guess they shouldn't be asking questions on MBWorld then. Whatever were they thinking?

Maybe you could make it your mission to correct all those folks who aren't as delightful as yourself.
That could make your experience so much better. Think of all the stressful nights you'd save yourself! You wouldn't get so wound up when somebody posts a question, or makes a rational comment.
Take a deep breath. Then maybe you could be helpful, instead of disdainful.
