2016 GLE Mirror puddle lights with MB logo
My GLE has puddle lights in the bottom of the mirrors which come on when you unlock the car at night. I think they are supposed to project a circular MB logo on the ground, but mine look like sort of a woodland scene with no particular image, so I'm thinking maybe the projectors are worn/ faulty /dirty or someone has replaced with some very odd aftermarket projectors (unlikely).
I had a couple of queries - firstly, do all 2016 GLEs project the logo on the ground (mine's an AMG line with 360 cameras)?
Finally, if my projectors are faulty, does anyone know how to find the MB spare part number?
Thanks

So the lights project quite a clearly defined circle on the ground rather than a flood of light. I'll take some pictures when I get back to the car over the next few days.

Anyway, can anyone help me with the MB part number for the logo projectors? If they're available, I'll buy a couple and install them myself.
I had a quick look on the MB parts finder website but couldn't see the logo projectors listed.
I can't find the other design like mine.

I took a look through EPC for this, and looking at the mirrors, the only part that I can see that is conditional on option #587 is the lower cover trim for the mirrors on each side. From google, it does appear that the genuine OEM part does include the mirror puddle light projector as a part of the lower cover trim with a small wire & connector coming from it, but that information is not present on EPC and I cannot guarantee that. The parts would be:
Left Mirror Lower Cover Trim: A2928103300 / A2928103500 / A2928104500 / A2928104700
Right Mirror Lower Cover Trim: A2928103400 / A2928103600 / A2928104600 / A2928104800
To work out which is correct for your car would require your VIN. Hope this helps!

Yes, I replaced the mirror lower trim covers which come supplied with the LED projector modules in them. Once you buy the covers you can always take out the projectors if you want to use the old ones, but I changed my ones for new ones because it was less hassle. After that, the projectors were like new. I found some installation videos on youtube which helped a lot, and you just need to be careful when taking our the mirror glass because mine had a heater defrost element in the mirror which is held on by very flimsy looking wires which are held in place by spade connectors which seemed to be stuck and wouldn't come off easily. It's the type of job that you just need to take your time with and go carefully, but totally worth the effort in my opinion.
