GLE 550e tires

I have a 2018 GLE 550e with 20" wheels. The vehicle requires a run flat tire. Due to the batteries, there is no place to store a spare tire. It appears that only one tire in the world fits this car. A Pirelli Scorpion Verde 265/45 R20. How long does Mercedes ensure that replacement tires are available for a particular model? These tires last maybe 20,000 miles and I am on my 3rd set since the car was new.

You do not need to install RFT's... if you get a flat tire, you can get a tire plug kit and small air compressor...(which is what I did for my daughter's BMW)
or call AAA to help...

fwiw in the 10 years since my first BMW with RFT's I've never had to use one...I change them out almost immediately after getting a vehicle that has them.

I suppose, with battery pack, there's no room for a donut tire like other GLE's?

While not answering your question directly, if it were me I would swap RFT for conventional tires and put donut spare from ML400/GLE400 in the trunk. Donut spare wheel/tire does not really take that much room.

I wonder if someone makes a small spare/jack package in a container that doesn't take up much space? I really don't want a tire and jack rattling around in the back of the car.

Trunk area has strategically placed 4 hoop loops to facilitate securing cargo net which covers the donut wheel/tire. It stays in place when properly secured. Again it is either that or RFT for 550e.

I run that tire size. If you get the non run flats there are more options in tires. Just make sure your load index is 108. There is always room for a spare wheel you can always get a roof basket and put it in there or on the back cargo door or like the old Jeep Cherokee that mounted inside the cargo area standing up and even some trucks have it mounted underneath the vehicle.

Little searching:
Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sport RFT 265/45R20 with a load Index of 104Y are run flats

Thanks, but the Bridgestone is a summer only tire and is only available in a 255/45R20 with too low of a load rating. I will look for a way to stow a temporary spare that won't take up all of my cargo space. Or move on before these tires become unavailable.

An other "option" is to use 275/45-20 XL 110 RF (instead of 265/45-20 XL 108 RF) tires. 275 is BMW RFT spec size instead of 265 MB RFT spec size.
The most important is that it is 100% safe with negligible effect on speedo. There are many choices in 275/45-20 RFT and most are less expensive than MB spec 265 RFT and are readily available.
