Best plug in headlight bulb upgrade?
Hi all, I have an '18 GLE that I love other than the headlights, I would like to see them a bit brighter. I'm not looking to drill, modify, cut, splice etc., so what is the best, just plug in, headlight bulb replacement?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I am sure LED will be an easy fix. I have HID which includes a bulb, blast, and a capacitor ( to cancel the computer warning ). So simple upgrade should be LED but cheap LED has a short life. I had a bad experience with LED I burned 2. Also, I carry a regular halogen bulb in my GLE just in case if my HID gives up on me I can replace it for safety purposes.

There is a long post on this subject if you search carefully on headlight upgrade - I upgraded to LED with no problem other than a little fiddle to get the bulb adaptors in place with no wire splicing on my 2017 GLE 350

Can you please post what brand you have? I think there are a lot of brands on Amazon but if someone has good experience with certain brands it will be good to share. I burned 2 I am sure there are good brands but do not know. I do not want to follow the advertisement I prefer if someone has good experience with certain brands.

I replaced with Hikari Ultra. This was per a recommendation on this forum that it gave the most lumens of all those a poster had tried. I also had to buy mounting adapters, an inline device to stabilize the light and new back covers. They are very white but don't knock my socks off in terms of intensity.

I installed the LasFit LED regular bulbs for my 2017 GLE 350. I also chose the dust cover on the same listing. Installation took about 35 minutes - mainly because it was annoying getting them in place. It was literally plug and play, no additional work required. No error codes after 3-4 weeks of use, and it makes a massive difference. I also haven't had any other car flash their lights at me. I would suggest contacting LasFit with your car specs so they can recommend a specific light/dust cover. The dust cover they provided fits perfectly and has enough room to give the bulb some room, but it is tedious to get on properly.
