Hi everyone. 2016 MB GLE350 I bought CPO back in June 2020.
Car has 40,200 miles.
No other problem since I bought it.
I am getting the error "Collision Prevention Assist Plus Inoperative". Car works just fine but every startup this message shows up. I remember few weeks ago car had to break to prevent collision.
Is there a way to reset it?
Is it due to cold winter and not enough driving?
Wife uses it only for 5 miles RT to work.
when my distronic or eyesight can't "see", things stop working. first order would be to make sure everything is clean, including proximity sensors, and take it from there. good luck, ron
Thanks but I don't have distronic (adaptive cruise control etc.).
Only blind side mirror warning and emergency breaking.

the emergency braking is the cameras (and i believe the bumper sensors) so if they are dirty or obstructed (or broken) it will shut down. mine is off in very heavy rain and fog. other than that, maybe one of the technical members can help. ron

I cleaned front 4 sensors in the grill area.
Cleaned the camera area in the windshield.
Error still remains.
Will see tomorrow if it goes away after driving a little.

No I have lived with it.
I talked to the dealer and they want $190 or something for diagnosis fee + additional reset fee.
I am not happy at all.
There was no accident, just the hard breaking system did and now it's disabled.
Next time I have to get major service done at 50K I will get this done.
If anyone knows of a way to reset this let us know.
Quick update: Visit to the dealer and $199 later warning is reset.
They charge $199 for diagnostics which I had to pay. They did not charge me for reset procedure
(maybe they felt bad that I could not use the $150 off coupon which needs $299 minimum service work)
