Tailgate area switch engaging/disengages @ 12mph
Thanks!
If not, I've read that all Mercedes SUVs and wagons have a decoupling tailgate latch so maybe that's what you're noticing.

Your rear camera needs to recalibrate…That’s the camera you hear… to re-calibrate it, you need to find a straight road and come to a stop. Put the CAR (sorry for the wrong word here previously) in reverse and the camera will pop out. Then put the car in drive and drive LESS than 10 mph for about 300 yards or so. It must be straight also! If you turn the wheel more than about 20 degrees, it won’t work.
come to a stop, put the car in park and then drive on normally. This is basically the procedure… I have to do this about once or twice a year.
To test if it worked…you should no longer hear it pop out around 10 mph when you slow down.

Complaint: The flap of the reversing camera opens and closes by itself during fonryard travel. No camera image is displayed in the head unit. The reversing camera or the 360' system functions normally when activated manually or by engaging drive range "R".
Cause: This is not a malfunction, but an intended system behavior: Calibration of the reversing camera is in progress. For this, the cover on the camera is opened for max. 5 minutes in fon¡vard travel. The calibration can be performed as long as the vehicle speed is < 30 km/h and the steering wheel angle is < '10". lf these criteria are no longer satisfied before calibration is complete, the calibration sequence is aborted and the camera is retracted. The sequence is restarted when the criteria are met again.
Remedy: Complete the calibration successfully. For this, the vehicle must be driven forwards for a certain time (usually less than one minute) at a speed < 30 km/h and a steering wheel angle < 10".
This should be done in daylight and with no vehicles driving closely behind. The camera must be able to see the asphalt.
When calibration is successful, the camera flap closes automatically.
