Need to make the GLE AMG 63s quieter somehow HELP!

I have a problem gentlemen, bought wife a 2019 AMG GLE 63s. She loved it at dealer, 6 months in and it is too loud apparently. We financed it and in no way in hell can we get rid of it yet without getting completely raped. She refuses to drive it now unless I can make it 'a lot' quieter. She feels too 'manly' with the exhaust as it is. There is no changing her mind on this..I've tried and failed. Is there an exhaust out there that will quiet this car down..'a lot'? This is a sin I know, but it must happen one way or another. Any help or direction much appreciated. I'm in NJ.

Take it to a custom exhaust shop and ask for ideas. Quieter likely means less power and worse fuel economy. Would this be acceptable to you and your wife?

less power is fine, worse fuel economy would have me more concerned only for engine longevity concerns. I'd think if it was tuned properly it would make less power and get better fuel economy.

Great story, but I have a better one. A few years ago, an elderly lady (with money) bought a new SL550 White Arrow Edition at my local dealership. A year later, she trade the car back (for S class) with only a 1,000 miles. The reason? When she wanted to give a ride to her friends in her SL's "back seat" she just realized SL does not have one. True story.

Regarding your problem...the only option is to trade the car and get a much lesser car to offset the loss.

Hey Jere M., don't void your warranty by cutting your exhaust. If you have the sport performance exhaust you and I can swap our exhaust. I have non sport exhaust. I'll drive up from DC.

Just bought my wife a GLE 63 AMGs. But she likes the exhaust and even asks if I can do something to make it louder. Haha.

that said, I have a lot of experience with AMGs and exhausts. Your best bet is to get another set of cats. And run them after the middle resonator.

Another set of cats? That’s expensive and another set of resonators would do the trick and do a better job.

have an exhaust shop weld in another set of resonators.

Hi There,
You might want to check/read up about GTHaus exhaust. I read somewhere in the forum (Sorry couldn't find the thread) that GTHaus's exhaust is like ML350 when closed and more like stock 63 when opened. They are valve activated. I don't have the exhaust, it's just based on someone who has it.
I agree that another cat would restrict the engine more and might not be good in the long run. Good luck!

Edit: Here it is:

Very good sound give offroad rado downpipes. I dont understand gt haus exhaust. In silence mode it works like the ml 350 in loud mode not louder than stock muffler

'19 GLE43's standard (non PE) exhaust is louder than i.e. '15 ML63 PP. That route won't help OP. Something much more tame than AMG's sound is required.

Maybe it's the "Emotion Start" that she is objecting to? That's the first few seconds of start, with the big roar.
Maybe trying to disable that part of the noise would cure the ill?

How about buying her a Camry or some such front drive heap and keep the AMG for yourself? However, if you are financing / leasing, you might still be better-off getting out from under that debt.

Be careful with making the exhaust more restrictive, as you could harm the engine. You would also void the warranty.

LOL! My dog won't get in my GLE63. I assume it's because it sounds like a thunderstorm which means she runs into the house and hides in the basement bathroom.

You could look into adding soundproofing to the interior or you could look into a new wife 😂

I've added Noico 80 mil Butyl and Noico Foam purchased through Amazon to several vehicles including my GTS, primarily to reduce road noise into the cabin. You could remove the trunk liner place these items under it to also reduce exhaust noise. Here are some links:
