Trying to decide which one to order as current availability to test drive is zilch. Asking owners of both models for feedback on both of these.
obviously, the new 2021 will have some updates but the soul of these AMGs should remain the same..

The coupe has much different interior space (less) and the rear loading sill/ledge is less convenient, both comments vs the SUV.

What vehicle requirements do you have for people space and hauling stuff? This is the main difference, besides appearance.

If you want the best performance and stability, the Coupe. If you want a fast SUV, and a tad bit extra room in the back, SUV.

I’m basically coming off an m5 due to its limited cargo space. .... how do they, the suv and the coup , differ in their driving performance?
I recognize that neither will drive like any mag sedans , which I have had.....

Drove a 19 gle amp 63 this weekend...
powerful and pretty agile but disconnected from the road, and at hard acceleration was a bit loosely gooosey......hope they tighten it up for the 2021 model.

That's odd to hear. If they are brand new tires <500miles, the tires may need more breaking in.

The main time it gets loose is when you are in wet weather with 4/32" tread or lower on those summer tires.

I have both 21" and 22" wheels, and 21" is just for traveling and cold months. The 22" is for summer, dry, and track only.

Hope you find the best vehicle that suits you. Never easy.

ok so I've had a 2012 ML63 .... then the 2016 GLE63s coupe, and currently a 2018 GLE63s...

Coupe was different looking outside, interior almost identical... but No grab handles on the coupe.. my wife is 5 foot so that was an issue...
Wider rear tires for better traction off the start.... but also tended to get pulled around from cracks and ridges in the road etc...
That hear hatch area is deeper by a inch and a half or so... but getting stuff over the sill versus sliding in was an issue for us...
taller wheels in the coupe, frankly that i liked although know it makes the 21's look too small....
my coupe didn't have a tow hitch and that i need to pull the boat occasionally... not a huge thing but was a thing....

adding some stuff after reading some comments...

being a little loose at WOT from a start.... ya got 600+hp and 4matic, it's gonna be a little squirly trying to grab traction from a dig hold on with both hands i have learned

not driven an e63 with 4matic, wonder if they have the same issue with traction and a little side to side tug ?

This ^^

The Coupe has a shorter wheelbase.

Shorter wheelbase implies better handling.

The coupe has less storage space and handling is compromised...check out the Internet for Videos on the coupe,,,not a good track or road car...lots of people think it is ugly, the new coupe will be better

Less storage, indeed.

That said, I buy what *I* like. I don't care what "lots of people think."

Also, I highly doubt its handling is compromised compared to the SUV variant. The Coupe has a shorter wheelbase. Shorter wheelbase == better handling.

that’s right. Handling is not compromised. No issues with tracking the GLE Coupe 63S. I did a write up on the AMG Private Lounge under GLE if you want to check it out.

also, yes, I bought this for me. Not anyone else.

Does anyone have comments on towing with the GLE63s coupe? Something in the 4,000lb range. Power is not the issue. The question is about steering and handling at highway speeds for long (6-8 hour) trips.
