GLE 63 S Order, Change color not possible months in advance
Hey guys, I ordered a new GLE 63s from my dealer way back in October.
Now, it's been a few months, and the dealer told me we have a build slot for the first week of April 2021. I'm excited!
I ordered the car in selenite grey, but changed my mind, and I would like to change it to black.
My dealer said he tried to change it, but the latest date changes were allowed to be made by Daimler he says is January 5th. MONTHS before the car is actually going to be build.
Is this some BS story from him, so can this actually be true?
I mean how hard is it to change a pain color? I want to know what my options are.

Selenite grey is still a great color. But if you’re unhappy, back out of the deal. Don’t settle for less.

With everything goin on due to covid, probably true. It's nuts right now. Supply chains are massive disrupted, particularly many vendors that MB uses. Certain features/upgrades are not even available right now to order.

Keep the Selenite Grey. Shows less imperfections. You'll be obsessing over black trying to keep it clean and perfect too much LOL

I guess Hans doesn't want to clean the spray guns again. Seriously though, keep the gray. Black is common and boring plus it hides all the body features that are also black like the grills and trim pieces, it looks like a blob.
