Does the GLE 63 S has launch control?

Looking at latest drag races for the GLE 63s in Australia and New Zealand, it looks like there's no launch control on their versions. Is it the same for all GLE 63 in the US or EU?

Yes. Your feet. Hold down the brake and gas at the same time and release gas pedal.

It doesn’t have a programmed launch mode. You have to manually brake boost yourself.

You dont indicate which model year you have.

The '21 GLE63s have a race mode but still no launch control.

The GLE has the TCT transmission, so that means a torque converter. Launch control is only available in the models with the MCT transmission. The MCT has a wet clutch in place of the torque converter, so it has launch mode, or Race Start as AMG calls it. It revs the engine and then drops the clutch. Torque converter transmissions can't be launched in the traditional sense of launch control. You have to brake boost them. Some performance cars with torque converters offer "launch control", but that's just a computer assisted brake boosting to avoid damaging the torque converter. Be careful with manual brake boosting as you can destroy the torque converter.

That's Race Start.

Race Start = AMG's terminology for launch control
Race Mode = An additional DYNAMIC SELECT mode sitting above S+ primarily intended for the race track. Available on most S models and above.

Correct, you don't. See post #6. Race Start aka launch control is only available on models with the AMG Speedshift MCT transmission.

It does have it, i have a GLE63 and was using that mode today.

Many people come to this form seeking guidance and support, and we do not need you leading them astray. Quit talking about topics you are ignorant of; even though you have been a member for a longer time than I have, you clearly dont even possess a small portion of my knowledge.

I see that this is your first ever post on MBworld.
Welcome.

But I suggest you read the thread before revealing your "knowledge."

The conversation was about a 2016 AMG.
It doesn't have launch control or race control.

Now you know.
