Have you checked the Blue Book value? You might be surprised on what it's really worth.

If I recall correctly, you got about 20% discount, around $95K, correct? Even with all the craziness going on, doubt they will actually pay $95K for '18 63S SUV (for '19 with about 10K miles? possibly). They will certainly re-sell at that amount as a CPO (may try asking $100K first assuming car is under 20K miles), which means they would have to pay about $10K less for it or for you to buy a new car from them at a premium (which they do not have anyway). Maybe if it were a Coupe (for whatever reason W166 coupes, both 63 and surprisingly 43, sell for up to 10% more over SUVs). I do not see them actually selling '18 63S SUV above $95K-$100K range so do not see how they can pay over $90K for it.

Any tips on how to check book values these days?
Kbb, nada, Edmonds and the like all seem to be hooked up with dealers, so I haven't been able to find a book value without getting an "offer" from a dealer.
I am not interested in an offer, just a market price based on auctions and dealer reports, as those sources used to provide.

Only MBs - the best or nothing
I would look at what dealers are actually asking (they are in a business of selling and not just holding onto cars) in the area and how long the cars are on their lots. Obviously we're are talking only about MB dealers and only CPO cars. From carfax one knows when certification took place hence they have a car about a week before it at most. Knowing how long it is on a lot is important to know - the longer it is the more they're willing to "deal".

Naples, always on high side (they have 2 G63s and want about $250K for each, I know totally different vehicle/image/demand), has two '19 63S CPO (11.5K & 21.5K miles). They want $103K for each. Hence I do not see Sarasota paying anywhere close to $95K for '18.

Well Sarasota is full of it - always the lowest trade-in allowance while pushing to fetch the highest price for their car.

They will sell the car for original MSRP.
I have seen this in about 5 MB dealers in Florida already recently.

Used cars sell for original sticker.

2021 GLS63 with 15K on the odometer selling for 20K over sticker.

2021 GLS63 is a brand new model (same for '21 GLE63). 167s prices are not reflected in 166s cars (many with 166 63s want to switch to 167 63s).

This is W166 forum. The original MSRP of his '18 GLE63S was around $120K. He bought it about 2 years ago (it was a leftover from the previous year hence such great discount for 63) for about 25% off or around $95K. They will try to resell the car at $95K (but it won't be easy since '19s go for about that), hence would have to pay well less. OP is not saying how much the dealer (not salesman) actually offered, but knowing that dealer, I would not be surprised with $80K offer (if not less).

The only important thing to know is.... What are they offering?

Not "Allowance" towards something else, which isn't the ACV (Actual Cash Value) and could include "over-allowance") which includes some magic numbers hiding ACV.
You don't need to figure out their motives, just ask "How Much - Today?"

Ah? Read the thread. I am NOT the OP. I do not get what you're saying referring to quoted post.

Of course you are not the OP, but it seemed like you hadn't read the original post, and you were giving irrelevant advice.
There is no need to check inventories to find out what the dealer was offering.
Skip all that research that you were advising and just ask them "how much will you give me for my car?"
But I think the OP was smart enough already.

My "irrelevant advice" was to alert the OP not expect anything close to $95K original teaser. The fact the OP has not posted the actual offer, tells me that they offered significantly less than the teaser just as I predicted.

BTW this is not the first jab from you towards my posts. If I tick you off that much, why even read? There is an ignore button to save aggravations.

Nothing personal, and you don't tick me off at all.
I just had a differing opinion and posted it. I'm not sure why you would call a response a "jab."

My opinion was that, to find the price offered, just ask. Instead of doing all the web and phone research you suggested. Maybe you just wanted to get a "Jab" in at the Sarasota Dealer, since you mentioned it several times in this thread. But that's your opinion too.

A lot of your posts are worthwhile, but if you don't want a dialog, maybe end your posts with "please don't respond."

Last week I was offered $65K for my '17 GLE63 with 18K miles. You can forget about 8-cylinder bi turbos being made anymore. I am going to keep it.
