2022 Amg Gle 53 suspension issues
they immediately replaced the rear passenger airbag.
I immediately picked it up drove out of the service bay made a right turn and heard the same popping noise.
they then just now replaced the airbag Bellow.
After they drove it they just notified me that the noise is still present that they’re putting some kind of recording device on it to see exactly where maybe the noise is coming from. And also that they’re ordering me a lower bold for my shock ..
hopefully this gets resolved. My Service associate has been amazing. But I want my baby back.

replaced control arm now
so the airbag, airbag bellow, control arm have All been replaced and this weird noise is still present. I called MBNA today. Suppose to hear from someone within 48 hrs. In California this I believe from what I have gathered falls under the lemon law .. hopefully they find and fix it.. this is getting old.

but every state is different. Unfortunately to my knowledge
I called mbusa in Georgia
it wound up a manufacturer buy back
in the mean time they did wind up fixing the problem but the lemon law was already started
and after 3 months plus on the shop I was done with it .
Did they say goodwill buyback or lemon? In some states I believe they have to flag the car a lemon no matter what but in others they don’t if they do a “goodwill” buyback, I believe (not sure though, I know there’s a federal lemon law as well). I think in California it gets flagged at the DMV level, so even fixed, it’s a stigma that will forever be attached to that car, unless they ship it out of state (although I’m not sure how that works from a interstate registration perspective).

So this was done under lemon law from my understanding. But from what I was told by the agent, I was working with a third-party company that did all the paperwork for the buyback. Mercedes sends these cars from California to Texas for auction. So I’m assuming it’s some kind of loophole because every state it’s different on how a car is considered used new etc. But don’t quote me.
Interstate shipping of these cars certainly would circumvent the state law of the original lemon. It makes you wonder about all of the low mileage cars that are a year or less old sitting at dealers across the country, the prevalence of which (at least anecdotally) seems higher for German brands.
Thanks. Let us know what you end up buying unless you already got something.
