GLE 63S just showed up, and well...it sorta sucks.
First, I am fortunate because I ordered on 4/14/2022 and it came in on Monday, July 25th which is lightning fast and with all of the options I ordered which was everything except track pace app, running boards and front carbon ceramics. I'm disappointed that you do not get a spare tire when you order Burmester 3D surround. Instead, you get a reflective triangle, bottle of tire goop and a compressor. There is a tiny little asterisk that lets you know that in case you happen to see it which I didn't. I was also missing the tow eye. My biggest beef is the front seat as you can see in the pics. I don't know what it is with Mercedes and seats. They are going backwards in upholstery quality. No way that is going to relax as it is really bunched up in that one corner. I bring it back in a couple of weeks and they'll order a new bottom to install. Not ideal but oh well. As I get older I'm a lot more calmer about these sort of things. All in all for the most part I do feel fortunate and am happy.
Beautiful ride - congrats. Lear Corp. makes the seats for our AMG GLEs. I have the diamond stitched nappa and it didn't have that corner cushion issue in your picture. The red insert areas in your picture look misaligned (might just be the camera angle) and perhaps shouldn't have passed factory inspection to begin with - in any case, they'll order a new cushion and then it'll be perfect.

Did you notice it upon delivery? That would have been the best time. You could have refused delivery until fixed. But yeah, it should certainly be fixable.

I didn't feel the need to refuse delivery over the seat. It might have sat for weeks at the dealer until a replacement bottom arrived which isn't ideal. I actually did finagle a spare tire after all. Two GLE 63's arrived of which one was mine and the other person traded in their 2021 GLE 53. So we swapped all the spare components from the 53 to the 63. Everything is the same and fit perfectly changing out the hard Styrofoam pads with all of the components. Lifting up the carpet square and adding the retainer nub to secure the spare tire in my 63. It was explained to me by the shop foreman that you can get a non AMG 167 with the high end Burmester and get the spare (spacemaster) tire. In an AMG specific model you can't. He thinks it has to do with either weight or possibly balance because AMG is very technical in that respect.

The flaws are unacceptable. Would be pissed. The leather seat bottom needs replacement as does the scarred trim.
Trim has a piece of fuzz on it in the pic. It's fine. Yeah, not too happy about the seat and how QC let that go. I did massage the leather and it looks 50% better for now until it gets replaced.

Lots of individual parts. Hardened foam base, all the tools, jack, top foam cover, threaded retaining cap and threaded nub to insert under the carpet cutout. Probably could order everything separate but it would cost a small fortune. Maybe the dealer could get/sell the whole ensemble at a reasonable price would be the best scenario.

I always spend some time with my new leather interiors, aligning the seams and working the leather.
That's what the original assembler should have done, and it looks like that didn't happen, plus it looks like the stitching isn't aligned. I agree that QC should have rejected this.

I'll wait a couple of weeks and see if I have any other issues then bring it in. I suspect several weeks and hopefully not much longer then that. Will update when that time comes.

I was wondering if they pushed your car out ahead because there wouldn't have been a replacement available, and they would have had to hold the car.
If it takes forever to get a replacement, that might be what happened. Tough decision for the manufacturers, many of whom are in the same boat.

If you find the status will be way out, you might ask if they can order top, bottom and headrest, in case there's a dye lot difference.
Ask to see the new seats so you can inspect them before they go in, next to your current seats.

No argument there. To me the 63S is a bargain for what you get even at the 12K ADM I paid.
Benzbell - what dealer was able to do that for you and did they task you with a premium over MSRP?
I got lucky twice. My dealer received two 167 V8 allocations only. First was gone same day and I took the second one the next day. If I remember correctly, it was explained to me that everything lined up perfectly for the build queue and the build went to red status almost right away. GM told me because of the lucky timing it saved 3-4 months on delivery time. They were shocked as well as I on how fast I got it. Both cars came in at the same time. I paid a 12K markup which I thought was pretty reasonable.
