what made you change it to a 63? Might as well with all the options you selected.

Exactly that, I was essentially just replicating options that came standard on the 63. Talked to my wife and she agreed. Additionally, with ICE dying out, I think it might hold value a bit better anyhow, so when it comes time to sell I believe cost of ownership will be the same or better than the 53 (whilst having a better driving experience). Pretty much a no brainer when I really thought about it.

I'm wondering if the 63 is still getting the red brakes or they're changing to the silver brakes.

I was thinking the same. Yes for the 63 the red brakes are now exclusive. I don’t like how the silver brakes look.

Well, another plus then. All around better choice. I also changed from the 21" black accent wheels to the 22" matte black. They're only a $2k upgrade now for the 63, I believe they were $3250 for 23 and before.

unfortunately I cannot change to 22” since I live in NYC so need all season tires, which sucks.

what you think of the AMG High-Performance Ceramic Braking System? Are you getting them?

Definitely not, I think the red brakes are wholly sufficient and replacement parts on the gold brakes are nutty high (plus the original cost of addition). I'm not tracking the car so it's unnecessary.

My build should look like:

GLE63C4S Pinnacle Trim- $129050
197-Obsidian Black Paint-$0
RXV-22” Matte Black Wheels-$2000
561-Black Diamond Stitching Leather Seating-$250
H86-AMG Carbon Fiber Trim-$1750
DA2-Driver Assistance PLUS Package-$1950
DC1-AMG Night Package-$750
DC5-Acoustic Comfort Package- $1100
DB0-Warmth and Comfort Package-$575
L6H-AMG Carbon Fiber/Microfiber Steering Wheel-$400
U17-Omission of Color Seatbelts-$0
883-Soft Close Doors-$550
21U-Dashcam-$200
D43-All Season Floor Mats-$170
D07-Wheel Locking Bolts-$160
D49-First Aid Kit- $35
Destination-$1150
Total-$140090

It's identical to my 53 build but opted for the carbon steering wheel and trim instead, as I feel it vibes with the 63/V8 better.

Great build, but the 53 also has carbon fiber trim available for first time. Are you leasing or buying?

Waiting for pickup to decide for sure and what they'll offer. Just simply plug in the numbers on each deal and see what makes most sense, as I'll sell around 3 years anyways on a finance deal. I have either option on the table with my dealer, not like I had to decide prior to order.

Side note, your dealer actually had for sure allocations for 63? What date was showing for build? My dealer said I'm #2 in line for 63 (was #1 for 53 as I ordered almost first day). but still has no for sure date like he had for 53.

EDIT- yeah just got order sheet for the 63, indeed it does say 'red brake calipers' at the bottom. So you're definitely right, they're 63 specific now.

just don’t listen to exhaust videos or test drive one. Otherwise you’ll immediately change the order haha

Also did you see my comment about allocations? What date?

Congrats and nice build dmash. I ordered my GLE 63 Coupe on 4/14/2022 and it came in on 7/25/2022 which is lightning fast and with no restrictions on the options I ordered. I did however pay a 12K markup at that time which I felt was fair especially considering how fast it showed up. I was extremely lucky.

Appreciate it! Yeah I’m pretty much at most options aside from rear seat stuff as I have a small kiddo. Didn’t splurge on the carbon engine cover either as I actually am fond of the stock one.

and yeah, I had to search many dealers to sell at MSRP even in today’s time, *especially* on the 63s. I’m at MSRP + $995 dealer fee, that’s it. Refused to pay anything on top other than that. One dealer was frank with me in that he only has a handful of allocations and his manager wants him at $20k adjustment for every one. Nuts.

i told them I am not paying above MSRP so don’t take the order if you will. The manager promised nothing about MSRP.

I’ve got a deposit sheet confirming MSRP, just so there’s no funny business for sure. My sales guy is quick to reply/emails me within hours of updates, so I’m cool with the dealer fee on my order, as I’ve seen more than that added in some way or another, even with guys who claimed they ‘didn’t pay over sticker’.

At this point I’m content, as it’s not worth the hassle of me searching and wasting more hours trying to strum up a different deal, when it’s highly unlikely I could get more than $1k cheaper out the door.

So based on a guesstimate the dealer probably gave you on receiving an allocation. How far out is your approximate delivery?

No joke, he doesn’t know.

This is a pretty large volume dealer and he had no reason to lie, and was up front in saying that I’m now #2 allocation as one other guy already was confirmed before I changed from 53. He doesn’t even want to guess, just let me know immediately as it shows a build date.

That’s why I was also asking above about build dates with the guy who said he has allocation dates already, as I don’t know any dealer who does.
