I took delivery of a new '24 AMG GLE 53 yesterday. Today, the panoramic sunroof will not fully open. It will tilt, it will partially open and the screen will fully open and close. Any ideas so I don't need to take a 90 minute round trip to the dealer?

Otherwise, the vehicle is outstanding.........so far.

If you tell them you tinkered, they may create a service record and find a reason to invalidate a portion of your warranty.

Congrats on new ride. When was your production date? I had a production date of Aug 8 been pushed back now Aug 21. Did you get option 465 ARC? how about Acoustic Comfort Package and wheel size, ie 22 or 21 or 20? Also did you get a trailer hitch? Thanks for the information. I am 5 days out from Production Date which the dealer tells me is completion date, was that true for your build? Thanks for the information. Besides the panoramic sunroof issue, anything else for us to watch out for?

I don't know if this is still true with 2024 models, but in the past this might be cured by "synchronizing" the sunroof. It also applies to Windows that partially open or close.

Pull and hold the open button until it opens as far as it will go. Then release, pull and hold it in the same direction for 5 seconds, and then release.

Then completely reverse and repeat the procedure, moving and holding the switch towards close, release, reapply 5 seconds, release.

If this works, it should fully open on your next open cycle. If it doesn't fully open but improves, repeat the cycle until it finds its way home.

If it doesn't work, well we tried. 🙂

Hello. My production date was 7/13. 645 ARC, no. I would have considered if I was buying the GLE63. Acoustic Comfort, YES. I got 21's 5 spoke (the $1,100 one non-black accent). Love them. They're HUGE. Hitch, no. Here's what I was told: The "Production Date" is the day they START production, usually takes about 5 days. After that there's inspection, prep shipping, labels, etc., Then, it can take 1-2 days for shipping (Tuscaloosa, AL to Charleston). With the July 13 Production Date my expectation was delivery in a couple weeks. It took 4 weeks and 4 days. I suggest you put your patience hat on. As far as the sunroof, all was perfectly in working order BUT I learned the "panoramic" sunroof only opens in the front seat area even less than my (sadly former) 2007 E550. We also have a 2012 BMW X5d with a panoramic sunroof that opens virtually all the way. That was my expectation. It never crossed my mind the GLE 53 opens so little. One surprise so far was there's a 1,000 mile break in period - do not exceed 85 mph, do not floor it, etc. so I'm staying on comfort most of the time with some "Sport" fun thrown in a bit. The other surprise is the the Moroney Label states one will spend over $6,500 more on gas than an average vehicle over 5 year although I've seen online from more than one source that Premium gas will cost around $300-$330 year more. All this said, and after 4 days of driving it, IT"S A BLAST!

I wish I had known that procedure when our c240's sunroof decided to stay open about 3 in after we had just arrived at a hotel in Steamboat Springs, in a heavy snow storm. Garment bags slammed in the doors for protection actually worked well.
The fix worked, when I found out about it two days later.

I took delivery of mine on Tuesday - and OMG - what an absolute beast of an SUV.
I too, however, am suffering from first 1K miles, drive like grandpa in comfort mode syndrome.
Wish it came with soft-closing doors (my last MB did) but everything else - and I mean everything - is spectacular.

Congrats on the new ride! I just picked up my GLE53 from Baker on the 14th. No issues so far, but definitely hating those break-in miles…
