I bought my wife a 24 GLE63S and I hit a deer with 232 miles on it. 26k in damage. Antifreeze was even spraying on the windshield. It's being repaired at a Mercedes Certified collision center with OEM parts. Did I set some sort of record? 😂
I did something similar. I was driving down a straight road around 60 MPH in a new Honda Pilot with 420 miles on it. It was the middle of the morning when a Turkey flies out of the woods and crashes into the passenger front fender and rolls over the hood and bounces off my windshield. I had a bit of a fight with the insurance company as I wanted to replace the fender with a factory replacement, not a cheap generic. I with the backing of a good body repair shop got it fixed with factory parts. Total cost was around $3000.00 for the parts and to also paint the entire side of the Honda so the paint would match. When done you couldn't tell it happened. Good luck with the repair.
I'm not 100% sure, but I don't think accidents involving an animal show up on a vehicle accident report. Mine didn't anyway. But maybe it has to do with the amount of damage.
