Quote: I looked at both Coupe and SUV but was leaning towards SUV between those two. The Coupe has a lower rear seat to allow for more headroom. That results in more discomfort for taller passengers. The Coupe has much less useable cargo space.
Agree. Coupe body styles for GLE, X6 and Cayenne make no sense in my view, if the second row seats are used by adults, even once. And the penalty in rear cargo space makes less sense. The rear bumper lift-over height on the X6, for example when loading the rear cargo area, is ridiculously high.

On the other hand, I find the Cayenne SUV second row head- and legroom plentiful and comfortable with the seat in the rearmost position and seatback reclined. I am 6' and find the second row spacious.

I have the GLE coupe and the change in cargo space and head room from the SUV is nominal. What is sacrificed with the GLE coupe is the rear leg room. The rear door entry point on the GLE coupe is lower so adults have to duck their heads to enter and exit, which is not something needed on the SUV. But once seated it's a lot of headroom.

They cut 4 inches of legroom in the rear to give real headroom and cargo space in the GLE coupe. With that being said the GLE coupe still had more leg room than the X5 and the Cayenne SUV. The GLE SUV had more legroom then any vehicle in it's class.

I ordered 2024 GLE 53 with AMG ARC. One month prior to delivery was advised that it was no longe available for the 53 (US). Took delivery and I love my 53. It is a pleasure to drive. I have 21" all season tires. Yes you can feel rough road patches, but nothing unusual. Yes I wanted the ARC, did not get it, I still enjoy driving my 53 and do not regret it all. Would do it again. (Yes I was mad at first as I had waited months for my car, but I got over it)

I have a 2020 GLE53 with ARC. The front ARC sway bar system had been replaced 3 times. I have the Part number progression from MB.
The very 1st version was so amazing, I was able to do sharp turns or long high speed turns with the body almost flat. But then it started to make weird noise. Car was in the shop for almost two months, they finally got the updated version 2 bar installed. A lot more body roll, but then it crapped out less then 3 months, started making same noise again. I am on the 3rd version now, so far so good but definitely feels like a regular sway bar system.

Just picked mine up today and the window sticker says it has AMG Ride Control + Suspension based on Airmatic. It is listed as a standard feature. I assume this is different than the ARC being discussed on this thread?

Interesting, my sticker says "AMG Ride Control + Suspension based on Aromatic". The difference is the word is Active. Two questions: 1-is it a 53 or 63? This makes a huge a difference as 63 has the Active Ride Control as a standard. 2-if it is a 53, is it listed as a standard or an option? If it is listed as a standard then it is like mine, not ARC, as it was an option not standard.

53 and listed as standard. Typo on my part. It says AMG Ride Control + Suspension based on AIRMATIC, not Active.

I haven't had an ARC system replaced, but I did have some sort of a failure that required new software on my '21 AMG 53, built 3/21.

The software was installed in Fall '21, and I immediately noticed more softness, and less immediate roll stiffness.

Aside: Do you know if the ARC version 2 mechanism was OE in a 3/21 build?

I still have the ride enhancement with the ARC, and it does definitely counteract sway, but not as aggressively as before.

Actually, I was at the track, and I spun off.
I either left the road because of a suspension malfunction, or leaving the road caused the problem. When I return to the pits, I saw a "do not drive over 50" warning and the suspension went rock hard. (I suspect the suspension caused the Off, but maybe I'm just covering up my mistake....)

I'm suspecting that the aggressive nature of the earlier ARC settings caused overheating or overwork, and the sway bar took a 'time out.'
Maybe the reprogramming was to reduce the stress on the ARC step motor or other component.

But you're right, it's softer now. I still like it.
