Clunking noise when deaccelerating
Hello everyone,
I found a few posts about a specific noise coming from the passenger rear side; however, some people suggest it might be the 48V system, the transmission, or something loose. I bought my 2023 GLE 53 AMG SUV from Carmax, and ever since, I've heard a clunking or thump noise when decelerating or accelerating at lower speeds. I took it to the dealer, and they said I need a replacement shock. They told me it would take a whole month to arrive, and I wanted to see if anyone else has had issues with the suspension. Or do you guys think it might be something else? I am hesitant about returning the car

Same problem here, 2024 GLS450, right rear shock failed at 6K miles. Was on vacation 2000 miles from home and every bump I hit, the right rear wheel would bounce. Dealer around me could get has a replacement shock. I had my home dealer check availability in the US and we found the only one in the US in Texas which I ordered and installed myself. Not a good look for Mercedes or Bilstein the maker of the shock.
