2023 GLE53 AMG Recommendations?

Seriously considering a 2023 GLE 53 AMG purchase. Found one with 20k miles and LOADED with about every option. MSRP was $104k.
Car drives and looks stunning in Selenite Grey metallic with 22-inch AMG forged cross-spoke, matte black wheels and Macchiato Beige/Black Nappa leather/AMG Carbon fiber interior.
Opinions?
Thanks!

22-In tires are expensive and there are limited choices.

The stock tires have a wear index of 200, which gives them monstrous grip but quicker wear.
If you live in an area that requires all season or winter tires, you won't be able to drive under 47° F without damaging the tires. That would be my concern.
You also can't rotate tires because they're staggered and most are directional (on any GLE AMG).

Other than that, it sounds like a nice find.

I live in the Deep South; so we do have winter and it will get below 47, though rarely for long periods. Yep, looks like you can drop $2500 for a set. $72k seems like a good price for a $104k ride with 20k miles?? been looking at BMW X5's and GLE 450's. Of those 2 . like the X5. But the AMG GLE53 has the 'WOW" factor.

Yes, I did some research and looks like the best all-season choice is Pirelli and they are VERY pricey. Like $3500. The dealer put a new set on Continental ContiSport Contact on the vehicle; since they a re the least expensive option. Reviews on them of wear are pretty bad.

"Dealer put on a new set" Well, on the bright side, you won't have to worry about a new set of rubber any time soon. Gives you plenty of time to save for those Pirellis.

Rear wear quicker than the front on the 63 22". My wife drives very leisurely and it gets around 15k, 20k miles tops on the rear tires. We have the Michelin Pilot Sport 4. We have plenty of days here in NC below 40 and they have not been an issue yet. It does sit in a garage at night. Not sure that matters though.
I think the 23 models did not have the 811 stereo option available? It is okay but I am not overly impressed with it for the cost of around $5k

If by "know what you’re getting into" you are referring to the cost of ownership, maintenance/depreciation of a Benz. Yes. I have been driving Toyota Landcruisers for 35 years and am spoiled. Spent more on my wife's C350 Sport in 70k miles than all my Cruiser's in 700k miles. So; yes it's a "what's the smile on your face" when you get in it worth to you.

Land cruisers haven't put a smile on my face since the FJ40 went away. I put 700,000 mi on my 63 FJ45 pickup, owned 45 years. IMO the last good Land Cruiser was 1973. F engine. Toyota never really figured out emissions controls on their body on frame vehicles.

And guess what? The reason I got rid of the FJ45, was because my 2010 ML350 diesel was better off-road. And towing. And fuel economy. New Mercedes SUVs are cheaper to buy as well.
You are right about depreciation though - which is an issue if you replace one every 2 or 3 years. But not if you keep it a full model cycle, about 7 years.

Sounds like a nice truck however New is always best they’re giving a lot of incentives for in stock 2024 vehicles. You can probably get a well optioned 53 in the upper 80s-90. Keep in mind 2024 had minor makeover including updated MBUX. I’d go with the 21 inch all seasons too. Best wishes!

Sounds like a fantastic interior and exterior color combination. I bet it looks amazing. I have the 22-in rims on my 2022 and it handles beautifully although I don't see much cold weather here in Florida. I love the Pilot Sports because they have great wet traction. I got 30,000 miles out of my original tires and the fronts wore faster than the rears.

Very nice choice and combo. Post more pics when you complete your “grill project”.
