24’ Gle53 Coupe Steering Wheel Moving

Hello everyone. I just bought a 24 Gle53 coupe with 16k miles on it. It was one owner in the same state I am in and I called the dealer it was serviced at + had my advisor from my dealer look it up and everything checked out good. I bought it from a Land Rover dealer and they disclosed they put 4 new tires on it. And Mercedes told me brakes were recently done.
Tires are OEM Yokohama, 22 inch.
From the first time driving it home I could feel something that to me feels off.. I have researched it and I’m thinking it is tramlining but I could be wrong?
It’s almost worse at slower speeds like stopping or taking off / driving through the neighborhood.. it feels like I have to keep my hand on 10&2 to keep the steering wheel straight. If I have just 1 hand it moves right or left depending on what way the road has a pothole or grove. Any other car I’ve had no matter if your going over a pothole or uneven area in the road, obviously the suspension will bounce and the car will move but the steering stays planted straight forward. It feels like on this suv the steering so so light (only at slow speeds) that it can just move anywhere on a dime. It does do it at higher speeds but it doesn’t necessarily have that super light feeling like it does going slower.
I am attaching a video of me coming out of my dads neighborhood where it’s pretty bumpy so you can see as I hit the uneven areas and pot holes the steering wheel follows it.
I’ve watched so many YouTube videos on this car and test drove 4 or 5 before buying this one. (All brand new models) I never remember feeling this and when I watch the videos on YouTube the steering looks pretty planted even when you can see the road isn’t super smooth.

I have adjusted the psi in the tires and it did help about 50% so it is better but it’s definitely still there.
I have taken it to the dealer twice already. The first time they had to replace the windshield and a trim cosmetic part and took care of a rattle. They said they checked suspension and alignment and everything was fine. Tried to ignore it and enjoy the ride the next week and it kept bothering me. Took it back and they had it a week. I drove it with the tech and showed him what I was talking about but of course on are 5 min trip around the block it only did it a couple times and it’s hard to see if your not the one driving the car. When I picked it up they told me they updated the software and there’s absolutely nothing else wrong with the car. They are saying alignment is spot on as well.
As I drove home I felt it right away and it’s actually a little bit worse than when I dropped it off go figure.
I’m frustrated because I spent a lot of money on this suv and want to enjoy every part of it. I know these cars especially are prown to problems and I’m fine knowing things are going to happen because I’m under warranty and won’t drive it without one. However if the dealer is telling me nothing is wrong but I know something is where do I go from here. I get nervous and paranoid that if I keep taking my car back to them that they will deim me as a problem customer and not want to help me.

I’m just trying to figure out if this is a normal charastic for this car / tire/ tire size. Does anyone drive this model with 22 inch tires and do you feel what I’m describing or no?

In these situations I always tell someone. Go drive another GLE and compare. That’s your best solution for you. Then you can continue as you need. If yours is broken or not.

Try turning off assisted lane assist. Car may be sensing you are drifting out of your lane and steering you back in. Is what it sounds like.

I turned this off right away. Did not like the feeling of it.

This issue I’m referring to is when the car is going completely straight with steering wheel straight on. It’s like it’s so easily swayed it will go left or right on a dime by itself with out me moving me hand to make it go left or right. (When there’s a groove or pothole that the tire hits)

Do you recall taking your test drives on uneven surfaces and the 22" wheels were properly inflated? I feel like you're experiencing tramlining just as you suspect and maybe you didn't feel it in the test drive because you only drove on smooth roads. Just a hunch.

does the steering wheel turn a bit and pull the car over by itself like lane assist? I'm just saying if so it sounds like the lane assist has gone haywire.

Observations:
I'm assuming from your video that you didn't have hold of the steering wheel.

I see the Active Steering Assist icon in your instrument cluster, but it's not illuminated.

I'm not real sure what that means for your year, but I think it means it's it is armed and ready for when you activate cruise control.

No matter, it's "officially" inactive below 18 mph anyway. What's interesting is that it seeming to be self-steering with no change from 25 mph to 10 and below.

I'd go back into Your Quick Access menu and make sure you have both Active Steering Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist turned off.

Get rid of that icon on your instrument cluster. If you can't get rid of it, maybe that's the problem.

I think there's also a nomenclature issue with some of the responses, probably including this one, because the terminology may have changed from year to year.

Note that the icon for Active Steering Assist above, is the same as shown in your instrument cluster.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! After asking SEVERAL people and posting 3 times online your advice FINALLY worked!!! I was able to turn it off completely. I guess if it’s semi off it’s on passive mode and will still work a little bit. ?? Not completely sure, but after turning this off it’s 95% better!

Thanks again! So happy to have this figured out so now I can enjoy the drive 100%!
