I didn't know GLK can....
I figured we can use this thread to post to things you didn't know about your GLK that you came accross during your ownership.
Even tho I don't have mine yet I didn't know...:
- If you push inside ventilation button and hold for 2 sec, all windows and sunroof will close.

Yes I read this in the manual, I have not tried it :-)
Things I did not know about the GLK #1
Everytime you start your GLK it keeps a log of how long you had it in operation and fuel consumption along with average speed. For some of us Techaholics, its just icing :-)

NYCGLK, I am not sure if that option is still available for North American spec vehicles. I was told starting 2009 that function, that has been available on MB models for the past decade, will be deleted for North American models. Can someone verify?
Leslie, that's certainly a nice feature available on MBs. Once in a while would try to 'beat' my own record of best fuel consumption!

I knew this feature existed, but did not observe it until I was in a non lit area.
The Bixenon Headlights have an Adaptive setup, when you turn the wheel just a bit in either direction it lights up that corner from about 45 - 75 Degrees its very subtle but a nice touch. I thought the lights actually turned but it appears that its another light that comes on, will have to have someone do it while I observe from the outside.

And, at slow speeds (below 20 MPH, I think), when you turn the wheel the fog light in the direction you are turning comes on for a few seconds. That is the "Corner Illuminating" option at work. Usually it results in people telling you that one of your fog lights is broken

I just noticed when the front wipers are on and you put the vehicle in reverse the back wiper comes on for however long you are going in reverse, even if the back wiper was not previously turned on....kind of cool.

if you tap the turn signal left or right without fully engaging it, it will flash 3 times and go off automatically. i'm guessing it's like a lane changing feature. so you won't be that guy with the turn signal flashing away on the expressway, pissing everyone off

2010 GLK350 AWD 2008 C300 AWD (traded).
GLK rides better than C300 Lux.?
I own a 2008 C300 4matic Luxury and just drove a GLK350 in 4matic and was wondering if anyone else had driven both models. My C transfers most any bump through to the seat on road imperfections. I think the GLK has a much softer ride. The body seems tighter with no flex and noise is less from the air and tires. Pretty amazing considering the suspension on the GLK is a C300 design with a little tweaking according to a couple sales people. Now if I can only find the right option in a Mars red I'd be happy. Not many bright red ones out there that aren't loaded up to around 50 grand. So, anyone?

i just found out that if the doors are locked and you accidentally unlock them, but never open up the doors, they will relock automatically a couple minutes later.

yea that feature is pretty standard, mine 01 camry had that. Also, if you unlock and open trunk only and then close it the doors will also lock after a bit.

You better be in the slow lane at 110 mph on the autobahn haha I have a friend who came back from Germany after 2 weeks. We were driving around 90, he was saying it seemed so slow to him, 150mph was regular speed on the autobahns, just cuz most cars won't go faster.
Also, you guys should try 3 series, preception of speed and the level of confidence are amazing in that car. I still sometimes have regrets of not getting it. But then I drive on beat up roads on NJ with cops everywhere and feel better about my choice.

actually I like the updated version quite a bit not as much as the coupe tho, but I wouldn't say it looks worse than the new A4 or C class, but I always liked how bimmers looked. The way bimmer drives is amazing, but dealer is too far and realibility of those cars is not that great, which is bad combo.

of course, some find GLK ugly, I love the look of it. This is main reason I went for it besides the right set and price of available options. Every magazine gave GLK last place, yet I would not want to own any car from the comparo test, even tho they might look better in some respects on paper.
