hope you're enjoying your GLK so far! I had the same problem when I tried to hook up my ipod. try this. When you hit for AUX, the screen shows up but nothing else right ie:sound or track?while the screen is still in aux, go to your steering wheel controls. From the steering whelel choose the audio menu. On the screen of the odometer Ipod should be displayed and thats where you pick the tracks. Once chosen press ok on the steering wheel and you should be able to hear the audio. I forgot if Ipod shows up instanly or you have to find it in the audio menu but play around with it and it should work if ipod doesnt show up immediately.
hope that helps.

Make sure you don't have the iPod plugged in. You can only have one or the other plugged in.

pRESS DISC - Use the joystick to select CD and click - menu will show AUX. Select AUX.

Read manual to figure out how to use steering wheel controls.

I have used the special multi pin plug in, in the center consul, into the iPod and selected Media Interface. I use the iPhone plug to charge phones and those go over Bluetooth. Don't buy a Ebay media interface cord, one I bought was crap counterfeit, it didn't even have the same amount of pins.

Depending on what year your GLK is, you probably have a 30 pin apple connector in the console. Your iphone 6 and later ipods have lightning connectors for charging and syncing. I believe you need a 30 pin to lightning adapter in order to hook up later apple devices to the 30 pin cable that comes with the car. Ebay and Amazon have supposedly genuine cables with lightning connectors, but none of them have very good ratings. You might need to go to an Apple store and get the correct adapter.

One way to help communicate your issues is to add the year of your GLK to your profile information or make sure you included that in your questions.

I tried the Ebay route for the 30 pin ( it was actually missing several pins) it didn't work of course. Get one from your dealer, then you can be sure it works there.
