Getting a nice winter jacket in 3 weeks as a freebie. It has some mercedes logo on it.

Great ride! Worth the wait.
Congratulations! You'll love the black... tough to keep clean but washing a brand new vehicle is fun in itself!

Be sure to post some pics when you have time...

dlinjuly2009,

Congrats, enjoy your new ride. I agree with you......its worth the 3 months wait. If you need winter tires next season, let me know.

Arrow How l-o--n---g from 'build' to Vancouver?

For all Vancouver GLKers... how long did it take from the actual build date and then to arrive into Vancouver?

My dealer states after ordering in September 25, the build is initiated in the second week of November. While the car takes a day to build, it takes about 4 weeks to arrive into Vancouver.

So my question is to all those who had their build... is the timing right?

I am told that mine will be here at last week of 2009.

any feedback would be appreciated.

I ordered my GLK on July 16 (also Sept production)
- Sept 5 Received at Terminal (Breherhaven, Germany)
- Sept 12 Loaded on Vessel (Breherhaven, Germany)
- Sept 23 Arrrived & Discharged in Halifax
- Oct 14 CN Rail off loaded in Vancouver
- Oct 16 Picked up GLK

Mine took exactly 3 months from order date to delivery date.
Good luck with yours ........ hope the snow will hold off for you.

thanks GLKster

hopefully you're right!

remember that snow arrived on Christmas Eve last year?
Well, at least it will be a good 'test drive' in the most extreme weather of Vancouver.

my glk arrived at halifax last weekend, and my dealer told me today that it will be at the dealership next tuesday or wednesday, so about 10 days for me from halifax to my dealership (i live in ottawa).
i forgot to ask him something, the day the car arrives to the dealership do i get to pick it up right away or do i have to wait a couple of days? i'm only 20, and have no clue how the procedure works...

panz,

The dealership needs the car for a day or two, depending on how busy they are. They need to wash/detail it and make sure all your options are installed.

Depends on how busy the shop is. They will likely need a day to prep it, clean it up and drop in a block heater... You just bought a brand new vehicle so they probably won't dick around.

Smile Status....

My GLK just got built on November 3rd.
Waiting for it to be loaded on the BiG Boat.

Does anyone know which port does the MB leave from?

Also, if the VIN# does not work in the "cargo id", does that indicate, it's not on the boat par se?

How many more days? --> Can anyone guess the right number?

Starbucks Coffee Card for the 'winner'

It will be loaded on the ship in about a week. The ship is in Bremerhaven. Another week to cross the Atlantic to Halifax then 3 weeks to Vancouver. So 5 weeks from Nov 3 so Dec 12 is your lucky day. If it's not on the ship you can't trace it with the VIN.

UpDate...

so...I am now told it is loaded on ship last Thursday, and due to arrive next Tuesday. At first, the salesman stated it was waiting for a 'ship'. Darn, these sales guy really confuse me.
