canadian extended warranty deal?
From model year 2010 24 months 36 months
C / SLK / GLK (not including AMG) $ 2,490 $ 2,810
would like to keep the GLK for 5-8 years.
Of course, this would add a bit more to re$ale value overall as it is transferable.
Your thoughts, please.
No wonder there is a small * in the brochure.

This is why I was curious as my vehicle is due to arrive next month.
Here is my suggestion to you. If you want the added insurance, then opt for the 3 year for $2,800 since it is a much better value.
Don't purchase the warranty now, however. Stick your $2,800 in a guaranteed term deposit of some kind. You will only need an overall return of about 3.5% to cover the $400 inspection 4 years out. This way, you don't spend any money you don't need to today and the cost of postponning the decision is irrelevant.

I wanna a little peace of mind after warr'ty period as we would like to keep the vehicle as long as we can, unless something better is out?

You're right, the 3 year is a better value.
However, not sure if any banks can give 3.5% during the worst recession years.

I was informed that the business mgr. is only making about 400 on this sale.
Hence, that's why they charge more if you buy after the first 30 days.

If I am going to keep the GLK longer than 4 yrs., then logic states that over
6 yrs / 160K = 390/yr (w/discount) or 7 yrs = 380/yr. to cover any warranty issues. (that's about a 'buck' a day!)

Of course when purchasing after 30 days, the cost is more and then it would cost roughly 6yrs @ 480/yr or 7 yrs = 458/yr! (no discount may be offered)

When I calculate it i get about $3.50 per day.But if your logic is what will help you sleep at night, then hey, giver!
, I calculated total coverage, including factory warranty. Thanks for the correction.

BTW... don't let me or anyone convince you not to get the ext. warranty if you think you should get it. If you see value in getting it, then you should get it.
I didn't so I didn't... but that's me. The fact and I can get it for only a few bucks more later down the road once I see what the maintenance is like is why I didn't.
$500 off their offering of 3rd party warranty.
Not sure who services 3rd party though...

, as JTO1 said , you have till 79999.9km or before the 4 years end
