Are you talking about the Canbus error free ones on JDM's website? What about the regular W5W led bulbs they sell, problem is the license plate assembly in the GLK does not allow for a long bulb

Guys,

Help me out here, but I think iJDM sent me the wrong bulbs for the license plate. They are the same size as the parking light and eyelid bulbs they sent me. If you look at the picture, after I installed the bulb, I cannot put back the plastic cover. Please let me know what bulb I should have received. I was under the impression the LED bulb for the license plate would have had all the LEDs pointed downward on the license plate, and not on the sides. (Sorry, the car is a little dirty from salt).

Yep, I had the exact same problem....those bulbs are too long. w5w refers to the socket type fitting, there are many bulbs in various shapes and sizes with the w5w designation. You need a smaller length wise bulb, sorry to be the bear of bad news.

Which bulbs from iJDM would you recommend for the license plate? I want to be sure it will not trigger error codes.

I ordered these ones from iJDM after I made the same mistake as you:

http://store.ijdmtoy.com/High-Power-...t10-sku318.htm

***One word of advice, the license plate socket on these GLKs is quite short and even with the bulbs in the link above, you will have to play around with the cover once you get the bulbs in. I recommend using a pair of small flat head screw drivers as there are minor latches on the side that need to 'snap' into place. If you do not get them to snap in, risk water getting in and destroying the socket. Its worth the pain, looks AMAZING when done!

Cheers!

Thank you for the link. It appears they are out of stock =(

In regards to the "snap". Do you mean the little latch that you have to unlatch first to open the cover? After you put the cover on, I had to use a screwdriver to push the latch in. Is there another clip or latch I should check to be sure the covers are properly in place?

Thanks Jonny. This week I will try replacing the eyelid bulbs with the LEDs as well. I hope they have a nice whites look with a sligh tint of blue, rather than a very blue look.(I do not want the eyelids to look like some cheap blue lights I see on civics).

Second, I am waiting for a reply from iJDM so they could hopefully send a replacement bulb set. (There website too needs to be updated and have the GLK350 removed from the list of compatible vehicles for the license plate bulb).

I will post pics of my progress.

No problemo! Let me know if you encounter any issues, I changed all my exterior lights to LEDs (except the H7 cornering lights)

H7 cornering lights? Do you mean the lowbeam headlights? I am getting familiar with the car, I apologize for all the questions. And thanks again for your responses.

BTW, for the H7 lowbeams, I am not planning to install HIDs as I do not want to drill the cap. I am hoping that by replacing the eyelids and DRLs up front with LEDs and replacing the lowbeams with H7 GE nighthawk platinums....it would give the car a great look without the need to go HID.

What do you think?

Cornering lamps: An additional feature of the lighting package. Most useful on dark twisty roads, narrow driveways and dimly lit parking lots. They have saved my tires & wheels from hitting curbs on several occasions. You can't add them after the fact. One more reason to buy the Lighting Package.

I just installed the iJDM leds up front on the eyelids, and the xenon white look blue to me...will they get whiter over time? Or do you suggest other LEDs that have a more white look to them?

I had a similar problem my first go round, the problem is the GLK factory HID's are ~4300K (a brighter light with lower Kelvin rating, but less blue/bright white color look to them). The first set of LED's I installed for the parking lights were 6000K, looked terrible as it was too purple/blue and did not match. I have since installed a pair of 5000K LED's from AZN Optics, much better factory match.

Jonny, I went the same route as you. Just ordered some 5000K AZN LEDs. Since now I have these 6000K laying around, do you know how to replace the side step (courtesy door) lights and the vanity mirror lights so that I could hopefully still put these 6000K LEDs to use. Thanks again.

Number of bulbs in the Baby Benz replaced: Zero
Number of bulbs I can see while operating the Baby Benz: Zero.
I will quit while I'm ahead.

The GLK350 has similar bulb setup as the C300/C350. The video below covers all interior and rear C300 bulbs including the courtesy door and vanity mirror lights.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-F4ooqoEyf8

However, I went another route in opening the front dome light.

https://mbworld.org/forums/3580533-post48.html

I also used AZN Optics' leds for the park light and sidemarkers. Mike's 5000K led matches well with a 6000K HID.

For all other bulbs including the license plate light I used a 1 inch LED from a prior W204 group buy (Maxlux).

Does anybody know how to replace the map light bulbs under the rearview mirror?

I finally installed 5000K eyelids and the dreaded parking lights. Looks great. The only concern I have now, is that as I was trying to remove the parking light on the driver side, the bottom clip broke. I barely pressed down, and it broke off. (The passanger side for example I was pressing down full force to get the parking light out and no issues). Do you guys think I should be worried that my parking light will fall out over time, or will it be fine without the middle clip?

Please guys, what do you think? Is this a major problem , or no biggy? Anyone else break a clip on these parking lights? Will they hold or fall out over time? Please, I am so worried.
