Storage Bins...
One of the things I really like about my GLK are the storage bins. Both doors have very deep pockets for storage, nice net map storage in the passenger area, double decker glovebox (that you can cool), and the lift-up floor in the trunk with the storage underneath and collapsable shopping box. All of this is a lot better -- IMHO -- than what the competition offers.
But what I cannot figure out is what to use the small, forward storage bin in the center console/armrest for. Not the main, deep one under the arm rest, but that little one just behind the infotainment mouse.
So has anyone found a good use for this space?

Very true, and if you haven't done it already you can easily lift out the ash tray provided and it becomes a nice compartment for a garage door opener if you don't have homelink. All I did was pop out the ash tray, cut a square of some non slip backing my wife uses for her cutting boards and set it in there so my garage door opener wasn't sliding around. The compartment closes just as it did before.

I think storage could be much better. My old much smaller Toyota matrix had the same amount of storage. I don't really care, except middle bin should be deeper. Little guy there fits coinholder perfectly. What's really annoying is no sunglass holder.

I have been satisfied with the storage....except for Sunglasses....
there are a lot of different styles.......including one that claims to be standard equip on Mercedes?

not so much a case but is easier to access. We wear Sunglasses virtually every day of the year down here, so access is important to me.

I do wish there was a place in the overhead for them......
I guess middle bin can't be real deep on a Rear Wheel Drive.....and I ain't giving THAT up!

Thanks for those links. The lack of a sunglass holder is my biggest problem with storage in the car too.
I'm surprised people think the middle bin isn't deep enough...seems plenty deep to me.
All our tolls down here are electronic, so I don't have a need to store toll money. But that little forward bin seems like it would be a pain to fish change out of every time.

Not impressed with the GLK storage area or lack thereof. LOL.
But the worse has got to be the glovebox.
You can't even fit the manual portfolio in there.
Currently have our's in the passenger door storage slot.
Thinking of putting it as a PDF on my smartphone or store it on a DVD & play it while stopped?

I use the otherwise useless little bin for a key card. A USB port would be a better use of that space.
I have yet to find anything that fits in the door bins. Europeans still don't get cup holders.

Small bin
I used it to store my hand sanitizer. My phone is too long to fit and I couldn't think of anything else I wanted to put in there.

Cargo bins under driver - and passenger seats
In Europe is a variety of options available when "building" ones MB, one of which is Storage Bins under driver - and passenger seats, code 932.
This option is together with P64 - Memory Package - only, and not when Fire Extinguisher (under driver seat), code 682, is selected.
The P64 package equals the "10-way power front seats, with 3-position memory for driver seat" part of the Premium 1 Package, so -
