Is it 6 months for the free preview in Canada?
Has anyone got a deal after that?

In the US, we get 6 months free so mine ended in February and after researching price I ordered the lifetime subscription for $399.00 (US). With royalty fees and taxes, it comes out to about $460.00. The only deal I got was they can stretch out 5 equal payments over 5 months which isn't too bad. The problem is when I replace the car the radio stays with the car. I figured it would be good at resale time knowing that the car will always have Sirius included at no charge to the new owner. Has to be worth something right?

The next issue is the traffic portion. I think that is a separate subscription. For some reason, my "traffic" portion wasn't activated at the same time as my regular Sirius service so I have until May to decide. I'm not sure what happens after that, anybody know????

that's weird it stays with the car...what if future buyer already has sirius subscription.

I think traffic was added to Navi later on, so not all GLK's can have traffic like in my case, unless somebody can prove otherwise.

They would have the same problem, radio stays with car so if they sell it they lose it.

You might be right about NAVI, you must have it to have the traffic.

Each unit portable or built in has it's own EIN number so you could say it's the device that has the subscription, not the person so no transfers. If you have a monthly subscription at $12.99 per month you are paying a lot more in the long run. In my case they wanted to charge me $349.00 for a three year subscription which I thought was a good deal until I found out for the extra $50 I could get lifetime. Someone getting my car with a no charge Sirius radio should add a little resale value to it. Only time will tell!

I also wouldn't compare a portable device with a built in unit personally. The advantages are the controls on the steering wheel, sound, muting when using Bluetooth, etc.

The lifetime plan sounds good... if Sirius is still around in a few years. :/
