Command Center Latest Software

I understand there is a version of software (or firmware) that adds guide lines to the rear camera when a backing and live traffic to the SirriusXM raido for the Command Center. Does anyone know what that software part number or version number is and for those that were able to get the update, how did you make the dealer aware that it was available?

They are certainly not on our GLK, which I purchased about 13 months ago. Plus when I asked my SA about this 4 weeks ago, he stated that no updated firmware was available.

hmm when did all of yours go into service? Mine went in June of 09 I am wondering if this was a mid year change? I am going to ask my dealer if a software upgrade can fix this as I would like to have the lines.

Just to clarify I have the multimedia package in a USA vehicle, (as far as I know that is the only way to get the rearview camera.)

Hi did you ask them if there were any updates or just noticed that they didn't perform any as per your paperwork?

this could be part of the change in mid-year model in 2009?
I do have the lines, and it helps a lot during parking. Luv it!

I got my car in May and I have the lines.

When I was test driving the car back in Feb/March, I remember the salesperson telling me the mid-2010 models came with an improved software for the Navi/Backup camera, which was causing some frustration for owners who purchased the car prior.

THis may be the case here

I test drove the GLK before they were allowed to sell them and bought mine shortly thereafter. There have been so many changes that have become standard over the 16 months that the vehicle has been available. No guidelines on mine.

This is what we all mean by new *guidelines*:

The lines on the rear view image.... not written guidelines somewhere. We have them on our Nav... I don't know what all the fuss is... we do not like this feature.... not a sure bet... not very reliable... looking down at the center of my dash while backing up feels wrong... it should be built-into the RV mirror.... what a waste...

I would check the camera first for blind spot in case a kid or a dog is there, and then I still turn my head to reverse the car. The camera gives you about maybe 150 degree of view but your eye through the window gives you 180.

BTW, did you remove the SST plate on top of the rear bumper? I can see it from my camera.

I see my stainless plate as well, thought it was standard.
If they made changes one would hope it could be upgraded via software, mine also doesnt have an ESN for traffic, sirius said it sounds like the dealer installed it wrong since mine should have it. The sticker doesnt specify travel though...

I hate to bump an old thread but has anyone actually managed to have the Command software updated on their GLK?

If so, are there any changes other than the guide lines?

I'm going to bump it again and see if anything falls out of the trees.

My wife has a 2010 GLK-350 with which she has a love hate relashionship.

I'm hoping that there's an update that fixes some of the things she hates without "fixing" the things she likes.

An example of what she hates.

The command system accumulates the phone book from her iPhone 5.
It ends up with multiple identical copies of everyone until its full.
The only way I've found to get rd f them is anual delete - several hours...
