All weather floor mats - US only?
Hi all,
I wish to get a set of these high sided floor mats, however Merc Canada tell me they are unavailable here. Seems odd as this is likely the place most in need of them, however - does anyone know how I can get a set in black from Merc US, sent up here?
More than happy to pay someone and cover all costs plus reasonable margin for your time and effort. Merc US charges $150 USD for them.
If interested, let me know.
Cheers.

montreal-uk, when I looked at these in the showroom, the edges can be a little nuisance.
They are great if you into country riding with a lot of mud and snow.
If you can't find anyone to assist, let me know if you are not in a super hurry.

Mr.mbenz -? Many thanks for the offer. Very kind. I notice you are in BC - have you seen these for sale in Canada? If so, I need to perhaps find another dealer......

only in the US, they have a better selection. these are not available in Canada.
I purchased all my accessories in the US, before picking up the car.
My mats are with the octagon shaped rubber, and these are the best for us in the rainy part of Vancouver.

Have you tried giving a MB dealership in the States a call and seeing if they will ship them to you? The shipping fee will probably be a little high due to the large size of the box they come in, but it would be one way of getting them in Canada. Do a google search for a MB dealership in the States some what close to your location and shoot them an email or phone call.

chilledbenz, I live pretty close to the border. I have now 2 contacts with MB USA and a few up here in Canada. You're right, due to the size and weight, shipping cost will be extravagant. Not including the our "massive" duty and taxes. Therefore, it is best for to p/u and ship out from Canada.

Shipping from the states via "official" shipping to here makes me cringe at the thought of the brokerage and duty plus the shipping. Private would have better as one could avoid a certain shipper, who charges a bomb for clearing your stuff through customs (remains nameless, but what can brown do?)
I might have to make a long day trip and drive down.

4 month old son who thinks the night is cuddle time. Sleep training just around the corner. A comfortable chair and an iPhone. If I can't sleep might as well be productive (ish).
I'll pm you.

His mama. Traded y0 mama in because she was squeaking.
Those look like weathertech mats.
http://www.weathertech.com/store/mvp...1368&Year=2009
The MB is charging less for a set of MB branded mats than is the manufacturer, is beyond me. After all, we're talking MB, here! Mark-up, mark-up, mark-up!
But seriously, I don't know what MB's warranty would be on these mats. The Weather Tech mats (I bet makes the MB version and just brands it MB), have great warranty. I had one on a pick-up truck once and the mat started to curl. They sent me a complete front set. No charge, no shipping and didn't even want the old ones back!
Edit: Looks like 169 is for first and 2nd rows. First row is only 99.95 USD.

I looked into the weather tech, and although more expensive than the MB ones initially, by the time Mr.mbenz has done his thing, and the hassle of shipping etc.. I decided to go for them. $209 CDN for the set delivered. Would have cost me more for the MB ones and they do the same job.
Mr.mbenz - you should change you name to "Sir M Benz". Many Thanks for the kind offers of help. Much appreictaed.

For the record, the mats won't be a deep black. They will be a light black.
And yes, warranty or no, Weather Tech sent me a new set, no questions asked. I expected to pay for the replacement mat, but no. The lady I spoke with wouldn't have it.
Now, they get ALL of my floor mat business and I tell everyone who's after floor mats about them. Whether they buy from Weather Tech or not is beyond my control. But at least I did my part.

Nah. My philosophy is, you do right by me (take care of any issues I may have with your product(s) in a fair manner), I will do right by you and tell people about my good experience(s) with you and your products.
Alternately, you "screw" me over, I will tell everyone I know about your product(s) and/or lack of customer service.
My current **** poor customer service/experience rant is about Road Armor (the people who make grill guards). I've been telling everyone I know that owns a pick-up truck about them.

Would they work? Sure.
Would they work as well as the Floor Liner? Probably not if your boots have mud and snow on them. The Floor liner is designed to catch a lot of fluid. I can't really speak for the All weather mats, since I've never used them.
The Floor liner is molded to the contours of the floor. The other one... doesn't look like it.

The so called all-weather are good for rain as you tend not to accumulate a lot of water in the car...But the floor liners are ideal for mud and snow. As the snow melts, it quickly overwhelms the cheaper and flatter mats and eventually leave salt marks all over the carpet. I have found only a steam cleaner and a lot of effort can remove.
Hoping these floor liners do a better job, and there is no reason they shouldn't

I ordered just the fornt and rear floor liners as I managed to get the cargo liner (and a roof rack) thrown in when I bought the car. Oh and a Formula One Michael Schumacher MB Petronas Hat....Lucky me.

Diesel is OK, with different engine characteristics, lot of torque and fair milage, especially the BlueEFFICIENCY. However are there some challenges, as you know, with regard to temperatures below -20 degreesC, when the fuel has to be mixed properly.
And besides, the 220 CDI was the cheapest we could get, 96k (approx. 1/2 of the price is taxation by the government!) CND + 15k CND in some "ad-ons".
Enjoy your 350 - and wait for the GLK 250 CDI 4MATIC BlueEFFICIENCY or the GLK 350 CDI 4MATIC
