tirepressure indicator is extra few hundred bux when you order winter set. Not sure if it's really needed on winter tires, I read somewhere that tire pressure monitoring doesn't work bellow certain temperature, not sure where i read this tho, maybe GLK manual. But remember thinking that it would make no sense having sensors on the winter tires.

Generally speaking are there no dumb questions - only - answers

With regard to the tire pressure system, do I believe your Canadian GLK (like ours) have the "Tire pressure loss warning system", which is quite different from the US TPMS. It's principle is very simple, reliability questionable during normal driving conditions - and even worse in winter and during other conditions. Note page 222 in the GLK Operator's Manual: http://www.mbusa.com/vcm/MB/DigitalA...l/2010_glk.pdf.

So any time being mindful of it's limitations is important.

I picked up a set of winter tires and rims. No TPMS needed on Canadian models. Canadian models use the ABS braking for tire pressure monitoring.

Have you decided on a package yet from Tire Rack?

I actually decided not to go with the group buy, but buy the tires and rims myself off tirerack. I called tirerack, and they said they can do $1600 shipped and installed. I went with the Bridgestone Blizzacks WS-70 with Elbrus I06
Black Machined w/Ice Coating .

They are shipping the package to their recommended installer in my city, so I won't have a look at them before they put them on, but I will post pictures once its mounted on!

Hey, I'm looking to get some winter tires and a 2nd set of rims. I want to get a set of black rims and use those in the summer, and put my stock rims on the winter tires. Has anyone else done this?

How do I choose the tires that will fit the 2011 20" stock rims, and choose the right size rims that will fit the stock tires?
