2011 GLK 4matic back seat restraint

got my GLK two weeks ago. just found out that I can't adjust the angle of the head rest. I can only adjust height. The manual says that the angle can be adjusted by pulling or pushing the top of it. Called my dealer and was told I can't do that. Anybody has the same question or issue? thanks.

Can't adjust mine either. Didn't check the manual though and assumed that's how it was suppose to be. Are you sure the manual wasn't talking about just the front seat head rests?

Front headrest angle can be adjusted manually, rear only height.

Dynamix - you are correct - you should be able to adjust them fore and aft as well as up and down according to the manual. (Just not the middle one.)

I checked page 94 in the 20111 manual, as well as the 2010 manual (page 80). Both show the same diagram with them tilting fore and aft.

I will have to check ours tonight when I get home.

i saw the manual and it does indicate that you can move the rear headrests forward and back. I guess it's a misprint??? I can't seem to move mine and didn't want to put too much force since I didn't want to break it.

Hi, I face the same issue with my 2013 GLK as jkrn2003 says above.

From the owner's manual the rear head rest angle can be adjusted, but when I tried it it would not tilt at all.
"Adjusting the rear seat head restraint angle

Adjust the head restraints so that they are as
close as possible to your head.

You can only adjust the two outer head
restraints.

Pull or push the top of the head restraint
until it is in the desired position."

Can anyone shed some light please?

If it is indeed a misprint in the manual, is there a retrofit part that I can replace with to allow the tilting?

Thank you.

Yes, the back headrests can be adjusted (but not the middle one).
It can tilt back and forth about 40 degree.
You might have to use a little more force than the front headrests.
At least that is how it works for a 2010 GLK.

Hi ble2716, thanks for confirming. Mine is a 2013 so I would think they work the same as a 2010. Besides the owner's manual does say they can tilt ... however when I tried both sides (not the middle), they just would not tilt at all, though they can be lowered or lifted vertically. Think I should bring it to the shop and let them show me how.

Hi impala,

Just grab the bottom end of the headrest and pull (or push depends on the angle of headrest). It will tilt, you might give it a little more effort than the front headrests.

Thanks ble2716, I tried both sides again as you indicated, pulling and pushing the head rest bottom end. I used so much force that looked to me as quite unreasonable, however both head rests still would not budge. May the design was changed in a 2013 vs 2010? Seems the only way forward is to let the dealership have a try. Thanks again for your help.
