Still not sure what color I'll go with. To be honest, I talked myself into the regular black. It will be a game time decision tomorrow. I know I'm going with black MB-tex and aluminum trim interior, so I'll listen to any suggestions you guys throw out there.

The front runners are Black, Metallic Black, Capri Blue, and Steel Gray.

pick the color you want, never pick a color based on expectations of resale or how others feel, I ordered my car w/o a sunroof because I wanted it that way, in the past ive ordered the sunroof for "resale value" I was unhappy everyday, from that day forward I decided I dint care about resale I only cared about what I wanted and ordered every car I bought exactly the way I wanted, no more settling for what was on the lot

Eventual GLK?
Thanks for the link NYC, it's very helpful.

I think I agree with MBRedux for the color combos.

Is this almond? Leather or MB-tex? http://gallery.me.com/bnjwilliams/10...12394969790001 It looks really nice.

If I go blue, I'd do black interior with aluminum trim.

Not feeling the Steel Gray or Palladium now..maybe I'll feel different in person.

Is regular black more common than metallic black?

Funny how my opinion keeps changing.. well, it will stop changing tomorrow! Thanks guys

Do you think the X3 is going to be much different in its look? Which 2010 do you like GLK or X3? Drive a 2010 X3 and a 2011 GLK which do you like? If price has anything to do with this then don't ask here. I don't think most are unhappy with their GLK's. This site is all about MB's. Do you really want us to help you make up your mind? We of course will be happy if you buy a GLK. We don't want this to be a "I told you so"

I ordered a GLK without a sunroof too. Enjoying the extra inch of headroom.

MBTEX, wood is not that nice looking in person, too fake

When I see black GLK I have no clue which one it is

I started out wanting Black car with beige interior and wood, and 19inch rims.
Instead I got silver gray with black interior and alum trim and 20 inch rims...and have no regrets whatsoever. Actually very glad it came out this way.

I think any color combo has it's pros and cons. As long as you don't get color that you hate, it'll be all good.

Let us know how it goes.

Based on your original post color didn't seem like your biggest concern but if it is, does someone else pick out your clothes also, DUDE.

Dude, won't stoop down to your level but I can't help it if you are color blind. Buy an X3 and have a nice day

MkenM, what's your problem here? Tough day? Your posts about X3 are irrelevant as this was never point of this thread. The guy (I assume) was asking strictly about GLK's options and colors. With MB having 2 blacks and 3 grays you can ask for opinions on colors, nothing wrong with that.

If you read the original post color was the last thing on his mind. All I was saying was that he should not let anyone else make up his mind he needs to get the color he is happiest with not what other people think. The most popular colors may not be to his liking that is what my references were nothing more nothing less and then he goes off with his less than low life comment. Have no regard for people like that. Never meant for it to go this way. No bad day here.

Eventual GLK?
When I first scoped out the GLK it was dark at the dealership (because it's dark at 4pm these days) and I couldn't see the differences between the black and metallic black, or steel gray and palladium, etc. So I reached out to get feedback on the colors. I learned online, for example, the metallic paints are better at hiding dirt. I asked which colors were popular so my car would *not* end up looking like 99% of GLKs. I learned that there's no dominant color and they're spread out between the white, blacks, and grays. Thanks to NYC's link and MBRedux's color combo suggestions, I've opened up my search a lot and now I don't think I'll need to build to order. (Push will come to shove on Monday.)

Ten days ago, in the original post, I mentioned I was consdering the X3, but that's not what this thread was about. And about 5 days ago, I was already haggling with salesmen over GLK pricing. Some guys clearly didn't read the whole thread and they jumped in and provided less than useful commentary. MKenM made his comment about the X3 vs GLK, I said I was only looking for opinions on colors, he responded like a jerk, I responded like a dick. I know it can be a test of futility trying to engage in a rational dialogue online. Hooray internet conversations. No hard feelings Ken, moving on..

I appreciate this forum's constructive feedback and I'm confident that I'll make better, more informed decisions when I do finally place the order. Insane or not, thanks anyway.

remember regular black GLKs have metallic door handles it hides the wear better, for me I keep my black cars clean and polished, I also wanted a low option content car, I did buy the AMG package in my opinion the AMG or sport package are important because of the lower profile tires that handle better, makes the car much sharper, another must have for me is heated seats and xenon lights,so many of the cars on lots are optioned out the *** with lots of stuff i didnt want/need

No hard feelings I think my original intent was to get you to think for yourself and not rely on others. I am truly sorry that it went the way it did, best of luck in what ever you choose. Please post pictures of your new toy!!!

GLK Capri blue & AMG fascia image

The attached image shows the front of your Capri blue GLK with the AMG lower fascia and, to add realism, a license plate installed. Looks sharp! Consider debadging the rear hatch and removing the side panel chrome strips just after you pick up your GLK.

Well, it's done. I had to build it and delivery should be in mid January, though I'm not sure how over-optimistic they usually are. I got 8% off MSRP without hassle. I had a sales guy eager to pad his monthly stats to get into his next sales tier. At least that's what he told me.

GLK350
Obsidian black, almond mb-tex, wood trim
4MATIC
Premium 1 package
AMG package
Lighting package
Multimedia package
Chrome package (dealer's software couldn't add this because it conflicted with the lighting package.. will find out more tomorrow)
Heated front seats
Trailer hitch

I decided to go with black because I thought it was the sexiest combo with the almond interior. I chose metallic black because my days of keeping cars spotless are probably behind me. Thanks for the help everybody.

Congratulations, its going to look great when it comes

btw: I think the Chrome Package could not be added because it conflicts with the AMG package.
