GLK 350
2011 GLK gas mileage

Just a quick questions for my Canadian and US colleagues..what kind of mileage in total you get per tank? Let's say mixed city/highway driving?

I'm averaging about 13.6L/100km in mixed driving, which is about 485km per tank.

About 17 mpg mostly city. But not really broken in yet. It is improving though. First tank was like 15 mpg.

Tank is way too small on GLK.

I think most I've done 550km per tank all highway on a road trip with maybe 5 liters left.

Right now get around 400km in local driving with colder weather. It's amazing how crappy milege is while car is cold.

I drive to the gym which is 4 miles away. And in winter my overall gas mileage drops 20% because half of the driving is done while car is cold.

Get approx. 19miles/gallon. Had my GLK350 for just over one year.

Fuel Mileage

With all city driving I get 15.5L/100km

I have gotten 10.9L/100km on a long highway trip though

17.42 mpg (~280 miles)

485km with the low fuel indicator coming on.. didn't want to test how much farther i can go.. ended filling up..

Since we own it: 23-24.6 MPG with 60/40 highway/city.
Where we live there are lot of high graded highways. The 3.5L sweet spot is around 90-95 mph on hwy

You would not be getting over 20mpg at 90-95mph, unless it's RWD.

I did! The best I ever got was 21mpg*.


*Traveling down from NYC to DC on the NJT at 3am in the morning with the cruise control on.

C55 is also 700 pounds lighter and more powerful so you don't floor it as often.

break-in doesn't help either

Ours was pretty bad in the beginning at around 14-15 mixed driving, now its in the 17-18 range after about 25,000 miles on the clock. This is all hand calculated.

Got 22.0mpg over a 750 mile trip from WV to VT a few days ago. The dash said average speed was around 68mph. We usually kept it 10mph over the speed limit, usually 75-80mph on the interstate, except when we had to stop to eat or get fuel, or cruised some of the slower rural roads (thus the lower average speed). Cruise control for most of the way. I have 17" wheels with snow tires now, and I'm sure the whole package weights less than the heavy 20" wheels that the car came with, so that helped out a bit.

Heat was on the whole time too, forgot to mention.

My experience was similar to koojo. Two weeks ago I drove from Atlanta to Clifton Park, New York about 1000 miles and averaged 22.9 at 10 over the limit where possible. I have oem 19s and tires. I realized after I arrived that the vehicle was delivered with only 31/32 in all four wheels. More pressure would have helped I think.
