My 2010 was the last run of 2010 models before the changeover to the 2011. It is totally silent. No chirp or honk.
The best way to see if the thing locked itself is to check the outside mirrors to see if they were folded back. The bad thing is the folding mirrors really don't fold back as far as the ones on my older 05 W211 so it really doesn't help all that much.

They should all chirp or beep, you must have yours turned off. It is an option.

An acoustic signal should sound, as MKenM wrote, three times when locking the vehicle, according to the GLK Operator's Manual.

Do all turn signal lamps flash three times?

Even on an 2011 GLK an acoustic signal will sound, given enabled to do so by the Instrument Cluster/on-board computer.

According to what I have read in other threads is that in 2011 they changed from a pleasant chirp from a separate device to the honk of the horn.

FWIW, our 2011 (built in March) has the nice 'triple beep' rather than the 'horn' sound. Maybe it has something to do with the fact we have Keyless-Go or maybe it's linked to another package (P1, MM, etc.)?

yeah I tried mine too and it has the chirp sound and mine is a 2011 but i still left it turned-off as I want a silent arm and disarm.

I finally went to the dealer and asked about the silent arming on my GLK.
The service rep said that the sound level for the electronic noise generator was turned almost all the way down and said he would set it for a higher sound output level.
He said that since the 2010 models did not have the user option of turning the arm/disarm beep on or off the dealer set the sound down to a very low level since most of the new owners seemed to prefer it that way.
The dealer rep also said that the inside sound beepers for the PDC can also have their sound output adjusted within a limited range.

So now that I can hear the electronic beeper on the 2010 model when it is sounding off, it seems to sound different depending on which side of the car I am standing on. It seems like the alarm arming beep appears to be coming from the outside rear view mirror housings. Can anyone confirm where MB actually put the sound output devices? There also seems to be some kind of beeper in the rear hatch that sounds off when I cycle the power tailgate open and closed.
