Hello. Very nice GLK's here!! Here is my facelift 220cdi with AMG styling package and factory sport suspension. Replaced my previous BMW e91 320d with this GLK as I needed something more rubust to tow my boat. Got stuck a couple if times on bad boat ramps, so a AWD will come in handy. 4-Matic should handle that well. Just got the towing hitch installed and also the ECU and transmission tuned. This GLK OM651 twinturbo engine has big injectors and has very good tune potential, +100hp/200Nm.
Winter mode with basic 20" rimms and winter stud tyres.

Is that what that is......I just thought it was butt ugly. Certainly not what I was expecting from MB given their superior design capabilities. As for a "muscular presence" I think not, it's reminiscent of something the Japanese would design. Lipstick on a pig doesn't make it an AMG.
Gave the DD some love.
Fresh shocks, struts, sway bar links, brembo rotors and pads, POR15 manifold grey on the calipers, 30mm lift kit, 18" MB wheels + 29" BFGs - 235/60R18.
Also gave the interior a deep clean, added AMG pedal caps, and replaced the torn MBTEX driver seat bottom cover (creases have now worked themselves out after use), a blown secondary air pump, torn intake ducts, and scrubbed the engine bay.
More restoration and mods to come in the spring.
Posting my new to me 2012 GLK350 4MATIC. Was my step-mom's car for many years but was passed to me because she's been battling dementia for the past 6 years and it's literally been sitting in the garage gathering dust. Only 38200 miles on the odometer.
Am looking forward to learning all the quirks and features of this car since they lost the owners manual and I'm going from a 2018 Audi SQ5 to this. So the retro trip will be interesting. At the car wash. Rear 3/4 view at the car wash.
Thanks. I have to say she was actually very particular about her MB service intervals and only having MB service it so it’s actually in tip top shape in the grand scheme of things.
Am in the process of trying to get the original MB service record logs to verify what they have actually done - which I have to produce an official title to prove that I’m the new owner of before they’ll release that to me. From there I plan on servicing everything needed on a 14 year old car.
Current progress to date, Oil and filter swapped, replaced one of the original engine batteries, replaced original 20” wheels and tires with smaller/lighter 17” wheels/tires, 2 blown rear passenger tail light bulbs, 4-wheel lifetime alignment through Firestone, Weathertech floor mats and rear cargo tray, and ceramic window tint on all windows and partial front end Llumar Paint Protection Film.
Next up are:
HID/LED upgrades to high/low beam and fog lights (change to yellow LED)
Wiper blades swap
Automatic transmission filter/oil and 4Matic differential fluid change
add 2” Curtis tow hitch
new serpentine belt/idler pulley/tensioner pulley to address squeak/chatter under engine load
replace spark plugs and ignition coils
add backup camera and dashcam
connect iPhone audio to car
Add V1 hardwire connection.
Add Quickpass transponder
Keeping an eye on the following based upon what I’ve learned from the forum and on Facebook GLK forums:
New thermostat/water pump/coolant change,
New front brakes to address brake vibration during stopping
PCV assembly since this seem to be a problematic item in a lot of 2012 GLK350s
Electronic Steering Lock - ESL (since this also seems to be very problematic for the 2012 GLKs)
Original rear battery still operating ok (never heard of a car battery still running almost 14 years without a change)
In search of an alternative key (mine is one of the few keyless for that year and MB quoted me almost $900 USD for an extra key since they no longer make the keyless FOB for that year and it would still require me to manually insert it into the ignition to use). 1st 4 wheel alignment ever done on almost 14 year old car. New 17” MSW wheels from Tire Rack. Trying to reduce the 20” OEM unsprung weight penalties and bump up the tire life and absysmal fuel economy of the 4 Matic’s 16 mpg city / 21 mpg highway / 18 mpg combined. Initial results are promising in that I averaged 22.5 mpg over 140 highway miles.
Thank you! A lot to learn about this car still. Was surprised to see actual separate pelvis air bags on the seats
and separate knee air bags under the steering wheel in the manual.
