headrest stain

I just noticed that I am getting some stains on the headrests from accumulated hair oil. I tried cleaning it out with leather cleaner and with a simple green solution and I did manage to remove the oil but it left a shinny mark "spot" where the stain used to be.

Any idea on how to remove that shinny spot off from the mbtex? I never experienced this on "real leather seats" before so I am puzzled why the mbtex stains which I believe is a more robust and durable material than real leather.

Put a cloth cover over the headrests.

Well that is what I am doing right now and it looks stupid (imagine a blue microfiber cloth behind my head)! I am planning to get a fabric the same color as the MBtex and custom fit it in front of the headrest and not covering the back side. I just want to remove that stain first before I cover it.

I tried almost everything that I can get my hands on to remove the oil on the headrest and failed. Then the wife told me "how about the fascial cleaner I use eveyday? that removes oil from my skin (proactiv solution)" I'll be darned!!! After 2 wipes of a moistened cotton ball it did removed the stain + with a girly smell afterwards. Now I have a really good cleaner to use on the seats I just have to steal some from the wife's closet every 2 weeks and hope she won't notice it. LOL!

Some isopropyl/rubbing alcohol would've done the trick followed by a good leather protectant to restore the oils

Hmmm- I noticed that I had a darkened area in the left rear passenger seat where I put my niece's car seat up against there 2 weeks ago.

Still trying to get it off...but not sure what is on her car seat that could have 'stained' that area.

Starting to think this MBTex is not as fool proof as I had believe.

Update....MB Canada will be replacing my headrest as they confirmed that it should not be happening even if you have a very oily hair as it is not like leather that needs tender loving care. They even said keep an eye on the remaining headrest and report if staining occurs on those as well so that they can replace it. So to those who have staining on MB text have this addressed while you have factory waranty.

Thanks for the heads up, but I'm confused. Is it the leather headrests or MB-Tex headrests that are staining? OK, reading the OP, you have MB-Tex. We will keep an eye on ours as well.
