LED interior, and LED license plates....did it again

I just finished the LED swap on the GLK...took me less than 30 mins to do the...

front and rear dome
trunk and trunk lid
rear license plates

No lighting package, so nothing on the doors, or reading lights.

Also, maybe someone who did this already can confirm this...the rear license plate LEDs do NOT need to be error-free type. I used a regular LED in there and no "lamp out" code appeared on the console.

I did my E350 a few weeks ago...so the GLK was easy.

that is weird because there's no "lamp out" last night....AND....I know these LEDs are NOT error-free because I tried using them on the rear plates of the E350...and it threw a Lamp Out signal on my dash.

Still waiting for the rest of my LEDs to arrive..then I can finish the vanity, glove, and front parking and signal lights.

I did the license plate also the first day I did it I got the error message but never again since then. very odd... but awesome lol.. LEDs looks awesome reflecting off the chrome on the rear bumper .. so bright! .. I also bought some cheap orange LED front turn signals off eBay and no error there either but not as bright as I would like ....

For the turn signals....did you replace the big or small bulb? or both? Any hyper-flashing when the turn signal was ON?

no hyper flashing .. I did the small bulb a while back and that one does give me an error message once in a while , but the bigger bulb no errors .. also does anyone know what kind of bulb is in the headlight right next to the grill? and how to get to it? it's on the same time as the LED DRL's when I unlock the car it looks like a regular headlight bulb but I have the lighting package with the bi xenons so I'm confused LOL.. thanx in advance !

It is an H-7 Halogen headlight bulb. It is the cornering light that is part of the ILS or Lighting Package.

Yep. They come on under 25 mph & when the turn signals are activated. I put them to good use on a very dark, very twisty, very narrow, rainy-snowy mountain road in North Carolina. They also come in handy for dark, narrow driveways in the woods.
