Audio 20 question

Is there some way to toggle between two functions, such as satellite and FM, without stepping through the whole sequence? I found a very helpful direction on page 12 of my Audio 20 booklet : " You can use the controller to move the selection bar by moving the selection bar." Something must have been lost in the translation.

Even my 13 year old Dodge pickup has an AM/FM toggle switch but this state of the art German engineering wonder can't do that.

...but your 13 year old truck only has am/fm..so it's easy to toggle between them.
Press the radio button (just above the left seat heater button)...weather/fm/am/sat...you have to toggle through 4 rather than 2.

Ridiculous. Maybe in the days of mechanical switches I'll buy that but what about the LAST button on every TV remote to toggle between two channels even though the set is capable of hundreds of channels? I repeat, RIDICULOUS!!!

As I said, you have to push the button 3 times instead of once.....if that's too tough to get back and forth...well??
Your remote has the last channel button because you have 100s of choices.

Exactly my friend, exactly. Ridiculous. I doubt you understand much about electronics.

Why not just sell your car because it's so ridiculous to press your button 3 times instead of twice...I'm sure that your electronic skills are so advanced that you will figure out an easier way.

Use the COMAND knob. Wiggle it to get the AUDIO menu lit up.
Press center of COMAND knob
Turn COMAND knob to the radio device required.
Select
Can be done WAY faster than I can explain it.
What the heck is Audio 20 anyway?

It's an audio system too tedious & complex for stunted users apparently. Of course some of us are more gifted with a soaring voice & use voice commands in lieu of knobs. LOL.

From the looks of things, we may not know electronics but we're not the ones troubled.

Wayne,
That's what I was trying to explain...the radio button above the seat heater is even quicker than the command. Press it a few times and your back to your original station. It takes all of a 1/10 second to press the button but it seems like that is too much to do.
Audio 20 is standard radio w/o navigation.

I've never understood why some people, instead of just answering a question or saying nothing, find it necessary to make stupid, derogatory comments. Basic intelligence levels I guess.

You're correct about name calling.

I believe that you got your answer with my first reply...
Press the radio button (just above the left seat heater button)...weather/fm/am/sat...you have to toggle through 4 rather than 2.

Perhaps you should read the question again. The correct answer seems to be-NO. Ridiculous.

Cindy - sometimes the car is just too much to handle for the user & no matter how much you use the English language verbally or via the manual to help the mentally & socially challenged, the backwoods fool still can't handle it.

We tried with him.

The answer is yes...as Wayne explained....you're listening to AM station...you want to change to FM...move command down to bottom menu (AM/FM)...press and select and hit FM...back and forth you go.

I explained another way w/o using the command...just as easy as above.

I see that you have a Toyota. Here is the Toyota radio guide http://www.toyota.com/entune/getting...-hd-radio.html ....almost exactly the same as MB radio except that you have weather as an additional choice.

The Toyota's an '87. AM/FM,not even a cassette. Recently sold it for $8000.

I guess I'm talking to someone who just doesn't want to figure it out no matter how it's explained. I'm sure that you will have another reply about whatever...but it's over trying to help you.

420tee: If you didn't the answers you got your reply could have been more civil instead of going off. You can agree to disagree but you didn't have to reply the way did. Maybe the reply to your post should have been, "READ THE MANUAL" Would that have been a better approach?
