Has anyone extended their Sirius Radio with Traffic info on the COMAND Navigation screen after the free trial expired? Any problem keeping the traffic information?
The reason I ask is there are reports in the W204 (C-Class) forum of problems getting the Traffic portion of the service beyond the free trial period. Our Free Trial is about to expire. I extended the service today. The folks I talked to said that Traffic would continue along with the radio. I'll know for sure later this month.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

No problem. I have had it since Aug 2011. Of course, you do have to pay extra for it, but why is that not a surprise? I think the traffic system on the standard Iphone with red, yellow and green lines is easier to understand then the little auto pictures and seems to update faster. However, I do use it a lot on trips from Penna to Conn. and back.
Of course the best is still the old CB to find out why you are stopped.

Thanks.
I totally agree and don't understand the problems paying for Traffic over in the other Forum. We can do traffic with Google Maps on our BlackBerrys. However, that is not a safe option while driving. If we are on a road trip together, Mrs. Wayne can do Co-Pilot, Navigator, Traffic Reporting and Speedometer Watching duties. She is very keen on the last item. Grinning.

My co-pilot is big on navigation; no matter what road I take she has a better way!

I forgot to check if this was included when we re-upped our service this past Tuesday.

Was traffic considered part of the SiriusXM 'Select' package that came with the car?
Or was it an ala carte add-on costing extra?

Extra cost add on. $3.99/month. Cheaper with longer term contract.
However, it only works with COMAND Navigation.

Ok - don't recall any of that in my conversation with Sirius CSR.

Will have to double check. Thanks Wayne!

They will push the higher priced radio service. You have to ask for NavTraffic.
Do you have COMAND navigation?

I just signed up to extend our Sirius a few days ago, but it won't take effect for another 3 months.

The traffic feature was fairly accurate on that 1400 mile trip I spoke of on another post. I don't know what the time frame is for traffic updates, however. A few minutes, perhaps? Not sure how this part works. I did appreciate seeing that the traffic symbols differentiated between opposing lanes. Also saw red car symbols for first time on the trip.

The congestion symbols are cool, but not sure I would've been quick thinking enough to take an alternate route on the fly, if you know what I mean. I was in foreign territory for the vast majority of the trip.

At least it's nice to have an idea what's coming at you...

Otherwise, I really enjoy the music plus the idea that I can stayed tuned to the same channel for the entire trip if I so desire.

Then there's always the music register. I think I've now loaded almost all of my CD's. Bit slow loading, but once there, very nice.

Well checked this AM - no traffic.
Will call them & ask for it but if they charge, it's not worth it for me.
